S1 Exige factory colours?

The 340R didn’t last long then, what’s the story there?

David

mm no real story to be honest. I love it, but really feel as tho I can’t use it half as much as I would love to. It is probs one of the nicer cars I have ever owned in tearms of condition, even nicer than my exige I would have said.

I just miss my exige, to put it simply.

I can’t understand it either - surely a 340R is the ideal car, when you live in Geordieland?

ha ha, well you know how hard us Geordies are Pesky, you have seen me havn’t you, big and strong looking fella

Nah seriously, I miss my exige and although I love the 340R, I can’t get the use and enjoyment out of it like I did with the exige.

Hi Nathan, sorry you’re missing it but you’re not having it back!

Hi Kerry

You’re quite right of course, sorry I now remember you setting off the fire alarm at the hotel, the night before the trackday at Croft

You remember more than me then.

Kerry

Remember seeing a very dark purple S1 for sale at Caterham Midlands a few years ago, pretty sure it was the original paint job but could have been special order.

Just rememberd, this was an offical lotus colour, Deep Purple it was called I think. Viewed a car in this colour at TVR-MAD in Yorkshire i think, had the silver and black sports seats, was only a 177 tho. God I have a good memory!

Gun metal was a factor color for S2, but some of the late exige S1 models have been painted in that color ?

i saw one in UK and decided to respray my Exire i that lovely grey and a part of my 111s

not sure it’s genuine but il like it :

Aye, a rare and lovely colour.

They’d stopped Titanium when mine (one of the last) was being made, so it rolled out of Hethel in Gun metal.

Ian

Isn’t the car in the foto an elise with exige clams? The front calm is vented unlike the exige one.

hey m8 do we hope to see some pics of yours

the best of the dark grey ever

yes it was an elise but you cannot honestly see the difference on the pics as the front clam you mentioned is an exige motorsport one (with 3 vents holes instead of one bigger on a standard exige clam)

A lookalike shame on you, imagine the reception you’d get if you went on ferrarichat with an mr2 ferrari kit

i know i owned a nice testarossa based on a pontiac fiero the car burned accidentaly when i was at maranello last year for the 60th anniversary

Actually I like the motorsport vented clam better. The exige one has fake vents. they are solid with a plastic cover on them to make them look open. Anyways maintaining the front wheel arch liners you dont need to have them open cause its useless

I have to agree! i like the motorsport front clam shell the vents make it look more racey.

Are the motorsport front clamshells wider than the normal exige ones??

Should be same size.

I believe that was down to the way it was driven, rather than the conversion

i drive very carefull, always looking after the car (sean will back me up with that after i nearly took out his m3). i do love that red though im going to paint my new Audi powered car that colour again. (it must just be me im having trouble with the Audi conversion now)

Chris

Perhaps I wasn’t referring to you…(only!)

PS Sean told us the story of your “fish tailing” display, whilst enjoying our meal last night

Yes i know, i should never have let Mckean drive it!
