Rolling Road Results

This might be obvious but the torque figures published are in NewtonMeters and not foot-pounds…can’t remember the formula but its not equal(almost) like bhp and ps. I am just refering to the post who thought that there was a spelling mistake in the numbers. Yes the exige does have more torque than some 160s in standard trim but the 160 conversions out there get peak torque lower down, hence are potentially quicker out of corners (gearing being the same, driver the same etc…) …flamesuit on…

But if you use the appropriate gear out of the corner, the revs will be higher than the peak torque point anyway. Surely torque at lower revs is only useful when you’re not really in any hurry.

Well, the 190 upgrade is done and I’m very pleased. The power delivery is much smoother and the engine now revs freely until the rev limiter at 7800rpm.In fact I’m more that pleased, it pulls like a train until the limiter. Will get to try it properly at Brands on the 24th, so perhaps some more feedback after that.CheersDJ

I heard that the 190 ECU has the rev lim at 7800.Nicolas

I thought it would be 8000, but I found it at 7800!DJ

I forgot to say…only recent 190 ECU r set to 7800. Early were 8000.Nicolas

Well that might explain some of the missing bhp then!? Especially given that the graphs I’ve seen showing power building in a linear fashion with no real drop off at top revs.Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/shocked.gif[/image]

Yeh, I’m not sure what all the technical stuff means but mine def revs to 8000. A ferrari machanic took me out last week in my car and proved it, (quite surprised as I’d never been up that far meesen’ like)it was however smooth as a baby’s bum… so I assume it has the original 190…By the way, he was smiling a lot at the time [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]...so was I [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

Cheers TimChecked the old throttle cable at w.e. it was def not opening fully - have adjusted it but havn’t had chance to retry it yet - just maybe [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

Rolling road results show 210hp at flywheel, 174hp at rear wheels. At the brands day I had a guy in a Caterham asking me what had been done to the Exige, apparently its the only one he had ever seen pull away from him on the straight.Sinclairs (who did the upgrade) have told me its just one of those things, some engines will put out more power than others. No complaints here!DJ
