Red S1

Got my first parts back from the panel shop today, very very happy. Asked forthe chassis first so I can fit the transmission cooler and the new larger oil cooler so long.

Big picture: Red sills

There seems to be a PSP in place of your dash and I think you’ve worn the tires down a tad too much!

Some more bits and bob’s we have been up to this week.

Made up a new housing for the line lock and bias valves:

Some pics of the g/box cooler and pump. I have fitted a temp sensor, which incidentily is exactly the same thread as the sump plug, I took an old eliseparts one I had around with temp sensor fitted and put it in the reverse light switch. Feeding out the lowest part of the gearbox and returning into the level plug. I didn’t want a thermoswitch, so fitted a 2 way toggle which lets my dash display either engine or gearbox oil temps, and then I switch the relay off another toggle on the dash, at least that way i can see if it’s efficient enough in several conditions, and not have it run in traffic which would be annoying.

And finally the oil cooler, no braided hose for now as it will change length when the dry sump arrives and I did not want to waste it. Re used the origonal hose for now.

Yes it does fit between the clam and the side sill even though it looks like it might not.

Looking good Jason

getting in and out of your car can’t be easy with that seat

All put back together on Saturday, very happy with it.

That looks awesome, you did a good job of it

I like!

Did you consider continuing the black from the front up the sides?

Ian

Thanks guy’s.

Ian I had considered it, I have a picture of a autobytel car done that way, the problem is the black ends nowhere unless you do something around the rear clam, if you know what I mean.

I do, I suppose I wondered how black would look sweeping up towards the rear spoiler. Then I slapped myself and thought it was better to drive Exiges than waste time playing around with paint (we have winter to do that in the UK you see).

Ian

No - go on and get that Photoshop out and improve your skills …and show us the results of course

This took 2 min so detail is carp but you get the idea

I quite like that.

Ian

Looks like one of those flood damaged cars

Did you use the Color replacement tool for that? I couldn’t get mine to be darker than grey, what setting did you use.

I was just trying to see what it looked like to have the black line going up to the spoiler rather than the bottom of the rear.

Sorry for messing about with your car Jason!

Ian

Talking about Photoshop, this pistonheads thread made me laugh

Love these two …

i spend all this time and money making it the way I like it and you guy’s come along and draw all over it, honestly

I tried to do what you have in mind with some masking tape when it was still silver and blue, and there is really nowhere it can blend into the rear and line up to the spoiler properly, it would have to follow the door scoop line more than the sill line to be able to curve up like you have in mind.
