Sorry I can’t even be arsed to read all that I’m afraid.
It seems to me, that if half of your contribution to this forum is in defence of the rudeness/narcissm of the other half,…then quite honestly you don’t really get what this community is about.
If you’re really not able to wind your neck-in and tone it down a bit (there’s no evidence to suggest you will) then all I can suggest is that you (as we say around these parts) sling yer hook.
I’m not one to jump to conclusions, but you seem to have managed to elicit a very similar response from a lot of the members of this forum who all share a genuine passion and have valuable experiences when it comes to Lotus cars, track driving and making them go faster.
You are a tosser. Yes, it’s an insult… you should congratulate yourself (I don’t think you’ll find that hard will you?) - because I don’t recall ever having actually abused anyone so directly online before.
Please go and join https://forums.seloc.org and post all your self congratulating, ego centric stuff there - I think you’ll fit in far better … alternatively try Franks forum whatever that is called, or perhaps go and find Simon Erland and you can both redesign the world.
Gentlemen
I think the time has come to say we tried.
I suggest we stop adding to this post and ignore any future posts from our American cousin.
He is clearly well educated and skilled but fails to recognise the skills and abilities of many members on here. This I actually find insulting to say the least.
Although I don’t agree with much that is said/ written it is all the same very interesting and sometimes educational.
So please let’s leave it here and keep our forum as it always has been
Self moderating and friendly.
Looking at the admin I can only find 2 or 3 names that has ever been banned. That’s a pretty good record for about 17 years in my book.
It would be a shame to make it 4!!!
Oh dear! I just popped back here to find out if things had improved and what do I read?
Now with all due respect to your clearly boundless intellect and qualifications, one does not ‘shoot’ a gun, one ‘fires’ a gun in order to ‘shoot’…
…which comment will, likely, make me an irrelevant pedant in your estimation.
But I really didn’t come here to find fault; I said all I needed to about your rudeness some while ago. So I shall continue where I left off, ignoring your tedious display of self-righteousness.
One final thing before I go…your ‘knife’ looks like the product of a slightly warped, pubescent imagination. I didn’t vote for it.
Hmmm. If you’re designing your own subframe, can I ask you to add the following features? Without adding to weight or losing stiffness as a challenge? Obvs!!
Pick up the standard body/chassis mounts, without lots of redesign/spacers.
Lower the engine. This should give you a win/win as from memory the S2 Toyota engine/gearbox sits a good distance above the undertray.
Reposition the wishbone pivot points. This gives you a win/win on the wishbone angles for a given ride height.
Appreciate this may mean a redesign of your uprights. But as you don’t appear to have any made, it’s not the end of the world.
Add proper aero mounts for the rear wing - call it minimum 200kg downwards.
Still be able to open the engine cover with the above.
Optimise the rear bump steer to suit.
Resolve the stiffness issues - without using the additional shear panel/undertray.
State any issues incurred by the above and appropriate fixes for the issues.
Please show your working where appropriate for full marks.
Hope this project reaches completion soon… With Trump as your new leader and time passing by I fear it’ll never see the highway again…
Oh well , just makes the ‘useable’ 260’s just that little bit more valuable … Crack on
