Aren’t those things the so called ‘zombie knife’? Illegal to even own one in Britain IIRC…
Overkill
You may already know … but I think you will find that you need to Nut & bolt the Clutch to the FW by running a bolt from behind the FW and through the clutch and nut it there.
Normally the Clutch bolts go through the clutch and thread into the FW …
Might pay to check … just had a friend sheer the clutch bolts on his Exige … K20 with EP sequential / Tilton clutch … and this was because he did not nut and bolt it … as per instructions.
PS … you have to pay attention to the clearance between the clutch and release bearing … just dont assume that it will work … do the measurements and double check you have it right …EG
1]G/box Face to release bearing
2]Engine face to clutch face
3]Clutch Face to clutch fingers
Equation: 2 - 3 = X
X compared to 1 gives clearance … or fouling …
Ideally you are looking for a 2-3mm gap
Geez that knife looks dangerous … more to the user than the recipient !!!
Just out of interest what is the final weight [dry / no driver] you are aiming for ? I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere , maybe I missed it ?
Thanks
Going to be tough to get down to those kind of weights, not sure what weight Gav and Dave’s car were when done, but much more like 800kg+ mine was 880kg wet, cant see where you could lose another 200kg.
that will
A friend recently built a S2 K20 NA , fully stripped down [ CF roof , light weight clams , lexan side windows , drilled doors , machined door hinges etc etc ] Its for track use only and it came in at 728Kg wet.
You are running a rotrex and it looks like its not fully stripped down so I think it might be difficult to get to a number starting with 6 … but you never know … its a good goal.
I Like your idea to run a 2-11 A to A intercooler setup with 4" pipes . I am a fan of this setup and recall that my 2-11 worked well in the OEM trim [ others complained bitterly about heat soak ] Only mod that I did was to fully insulate the Intercooler from the exhaust below using two layers heat shield something like this http://www.motionperformance.co.uk/p102096/Embossed-Heat-Shield-Sheet---560mm-x-407mm/product_info.html on the bottom and slightly up the sides to deflect heat away .
I didn’t get any data at the time on IAT temps but my fastest laps were always around 10 -15 … so obviously wasn’t losing any power to ignition pull … or maybe I was just using the brakes later !!
Only reservation will be your Ambient temps … summer temp here for us is around 22C on average . I think you are planning to running in much higher ambients so this may cause some issues.
What fuel are you planning to run ?
I am not keen to use air from a Mohawk roof … the air coming back is very hot from the Engine rads at the front … drive a 2-11 for awhile an you will be surprised how hot the air over the top is.
Have you driven a 500hp / 700kg [ lets say] Exige … I reckon it will be a handful and you may find the need to go with wider tyres etc etc etc … testing will tell … it always does !!
My 2-11 is just under 400whp and I don’t feel the need for more . Power to weight is enough to keep your full attention. Not only are you outbreaking everything … corner speed is higher and now your straight speed is faster than most … so its a whole new ballgame … lots of fun … but you definitely feel shagged after a good day at the track.
I know
WTF is that knife all about?!?!?!
As you’re a septic, I am surprised there isn’t an over and under AR15 attachment. In fairness it’s not gonna be very good at spreading jam and cream on a scone, so i’m out too
Thanks
It’s for killing zombies
I find your technical posts interesting. It’s your dismissive and rude attitude that aggravates me. So, I think I’ll leave you to it.
And I thought I was alone
+1
Can’t reply as I have left here
OK…
Why not engineer a sense of humour (with a pinch of humility) - it would come in very handy
Because
The only question that is stupid is the one that is not asked…I would certainly say that the guys on this forum are far from stupid.
THANKS for letting us know what you think of us!!! If we are so stupid why the build thread on here
If you wish to be aggressive/rude etc etc then go back to other forums…oh wait a minute you cant as you have been banned from most of them.
We are a friendly bunch and some of your comments are not needed and certainly unwanted
Please keep things civil.
Not everyone agrees with you, your approach etc etc, non of that matters its your project.
Being civil costs nothing but would help make sure exiges is not another forum you can no longer frequent
