This is
fair play, and yes most OEM have the finned plastic manifolds then just put a spangly carbon cover over the lot
Looks good, in an uncooked pasta sort of way!!
Plastic manifolds are there for loads of reasons. Cost of plastic vs metal, weight - on the car and transportation to final production, see costs - speed and ease of manufacture - see costs - weirdly, noise transfer, the list is quite long. But it’s sadly, mainly cost. Nothing to do with high end stuff, can show you a picture of UK sub £8k new car with a plastic inlet manifold.
Without wishing to piss you off, heat isn’t very high on the list of OE concerns - although it is in there. You’re compressing the air through a MASSIVE heat generator, then through a warm manifold for an infinitesimally short space of time. You tend to see higher temperatures on the outlet/casing of the super/turbo charger than on the head, on a track driven car. I know of a guy that still has a branding of a Jackson Racing emblem on his forearm from leaning on a supercharger post race when we were turning it around pretty quick for the next race.
Unless you’re really careful, they don’t like lots of boost and interesting ignition/cam timing though.
That primary
They don’t like lots of boost for obvious reasons, and some valve/ignition timing combos.
Noble used to have a problem with their plastic inlet manifolds where they would fail due to boost on track. But they also used to fail on start up, just as the engine fired on all cylinders. Bit like the bad old days when carbs used to spit back through the inlet system and set fire to the engine bay/air filter.
Again,
No, where did you read that?
I’m with you on the LSD’s
As the world ‘moves on’ some engineer tries to re-invent the wheel and design an E-diff ??
Clearly not a driver that bloke
I’m with you both. On an appropriate LSD.
Ask Schumey about his E-diff. Took him to several F1 titles. Definitely a driver. They have their place.
Oh, and they’re cheap on a road car. Plus safer for 99.9% of drivers. Did I mention that car manufacturers looooovvvvve cheap!!
Fair point … No fun tho !
I had to demonstrate mine to you coming off the A449 roundabout though so that you could verify it’s existence to my potential gearbox customer
Remember that, although never disbelieved you!! Still waiting on passenger ride on glider!
We got
Do you a picture looking inside where the throttle body is mounted? Showing the path to the secondary plenum/section?
still works!
poor shots
All right

In what seems to be a common theme… I think your knife is a little over designed for my liking, I’d rather have a simple, effective knife that is effective for purpose and isn’t likely to try and kill me if I tried to use it in anger…
As the dragons would say… I’m out.
