I’m looking for some belled rear discs to match the front AP belled ones on my PP240, I spoke to Dave at Seriously Lotus today ( what a nice bloke ) , he may have some Nitron fixed belled disc sets to fit the rear in the future and I may go for them when he gets them in .
What other options are there and have you got any pics fitted ? I’m a bit of a fanny and want the bells to match the fronts ish .
The only ones that will fit straight on without caliper mods are the Elise parts ones. Not as bad as some make out and would be perfect for the rear.
There is no point spending big unless you are a trackday hero, whos front bells do you have? The early lotus PP ones like Junks sells?
The AP 290mm from Eliseparts fit, just put a set on the rear of mine the other day. A tight fit but no scraping or machining required.
Neil.

yes the ones before they changed to solid discs on the PPs.

They look like good discs but there is a big gap from he edge of the bell to the edge of the pad , is that always going to be the case if i change to belled discs ?
I stand corrected Neil, I was told they would not fit without spacers
Moomin, from what I have seen the nitron solid bell is the nearest thing to the look of that bell so maybe Dave could sell you just the bell if he does not do 290 disks and you could get the disks of Geary?
That gap will be same whatever disc I would think? Still there’s more material to absorb heat which is what you’d want?
Andy, the spacers are for the fronts which are required to fit larger than stock discs with the 2 pots.
Neil.
I cant’t remember who said it tbh but I was told that the 290’s would not go without spacers as the stock 288’s were that close.
Not got my car to look at but obviously they fit
I do see what moomin is saying about where the pad sits though.

I have the Nitron belled disks on the front… they are (as always with Nitron stuff) beautifully manafactured and machined… News that they may offer the same for the rear is great!
I went for the Nitron bells with the Alcon rotors. The logic being over the next … years … of owning my car I will probably go through quite a few rotors but I will always have the Nitron bells that I am certain will stand the test of time. They may cost a bit more ‘up front’ but in the med term they will more than pay for themself AND give me some very good performance too!!!
I will be interested in what Dave (yes a top man!!!) comes up with too!
BTW, the 308 Alcons fit perfectly onto the front with the standard caliper (you can ‘upgrade’ to the 4 pot later!) and are just the dogs IMHO of course!
Not my car but this is what I have on the front and I would like to match for the rear , there is also only a few mm of gap to the bell .
These are your bells as per a Junks advert
And these are Daves Nitron bells
they look close enough to me

Ask a silly question but what have you used to space the caliper out with?
Fixed that for you
Moomin,
Just had a look at hanger 111 as they do drilled AP disks to match your fronts, they also do 288mm ones.
Just double check the centers hanger 111 use but I am sure they will be the same.
Bells are 240 on seriously lotus.

Make sure you check how many bolts the discs use!! Our bells use 12 bolts with a 177.8mm PCD.(Like the AP 295 discs and our 308mm Alcons
The AP 290 Discs us 8 bolts with a 165mm PCD.

Thats what I meant, all in price
As Dave points out it looks like the Nitron bells will not fit the 288 or 290 disks sadly
Hopefulley Dave will get Nitron to make some rotors to fit the rears in the future, like you say the Nitron fixed bells are a good match to the AP fronts , I’m not sure how long it will be and I suppose it all depends on how much interest there is for them if there made at all .
Dave seems to have the Lotus thing as bad as the rest of us
