Re-Furb 2008

Massive thanks to the Edwards Boyz for the re-furb, which included fitting Jackson supercharger, Hoffman’s rollbar, Fev extinguisher, Cartek electrical cut-off, Nimbus heat shielding, Lotuspower manifold/exhaust system, 2nd fuel pump, fuel swirl pot, fuel pressure regulator, Lotuspower gearchange linkage, brake master cylinder, geo & a myriad of other tidying up jobs. The rear wheel arches were totally “shot”, as they’d been there for 7 years & 68K miles - this has enabled a shed load of muck & grime to find a new home in the engine bay!!!

Can only say that the finished product exceeds my expections - thanks again guys.

PS Forgot about the manual overide switch for the twin rad fans.

Very nice!

The joy of wiring. There is so much of it!
Can you disable the exterior extinguisher switch (for street use/vandals)?

…(you knew it was coming) THE ROOF CAME OFF!!!

Looks awesome mate!!!

Well done to the Edwards boys!!!

Cheers, guys

Yep, extinguisher is electronically controlled, with the “On/Off” switch located in the "FEV panel, in the dash.

Roof - was tempted to leave it off

Good job. I fancy fitting a fire extinguisher is that a plumbed in one?. Are FEV the ones to get? What price and where could I get one. Prefer an handheld which I can use in my track car too, (I’ve got an old AFFF in that).

Kev

Yep it’s a plumbed in “gas” jobbie - foam makes one hell of a mess, & it’s corrosive. Bought from Malcolm Sanders http://www.msar-safety.com/

Looks great - are you sure you have no plans to go racing???

How have you joined the cut fibreglass around the outer edges of the rollbar hoop?

Looking superb Rob… nice well chosen mods.

Sikaflex type stuff, I believe, Steve.

Thank, Dave. With the increased fuel flow/pressure, in particular, I thought it a good idea to make it as safe as possible.

Awesome!

Did you have to hack those bits off the clam to fit that roll bar?!

Bloody hell!

Will the roll bar add any added stiffness / rigidity?

Eitherway it looks fantastic and you have wayyyy too much wonga

When can i get a P-ride?

Looking good Mr.P

Those Edwards Boyz certainly do carry out some neat installation works.

You will be able to keep up with Gav in his 2-11 now

Regards,

David.

Nice one, Rob I remember when the car was an exige

I dunno what type of gas that is but FFS make sure you only throw the switch when belts are off & you’re half out the car.

Top tip - leaving the roof off will make this so much easier as one old fart would say to another. You wouldn’t need to bother with all that weighty heat shield bollox either

Have you booked some driver training then

Even with that, I’d never keep up with Snake Hips, in his 211

Ta

Yep, replacing the original rollbar involves a fair amount of hacking - as does replacing the rear bulkhead.

I think the new roll bar will only have appreciable additional rigidity in the event of a disaster, as the chassis rigidity/stiffness is superb anyway

Pax ride - you’ll have to get yourself to a trackday

Furry muff, its not something you want to find out about anyway!

Well impressed Pesko, what type of money tree do you have in your orchard?

I can just go along to ‘any old’ trackday can i, i need a hint

I usually (ie nearly always!) post up in the “Events” section when I’m going out on track. Only 2 booked so far this year are Donny on 27th Feb, & Oulton on 13th June

so thats your car fully prepped to go racing then?? Whens the first outing??

Sorry to dissappoint you, Mr McApe…

Very nice.

I hope to have mine converted soon.
