quietest back box to support 300+ bhp

I’m with Jonny the last system was just epic, spat flames and was so noisy, but it had to be made quieter…

PS it will only get louder this year

Lookin forward to boost ::wink:

So is Jonny!

Oh no, that’s right, he’ll never have boost.

Header design is what really floats my boat but I’ve been spending a lot of time on silencer/noise-reduction these days and it’s becoming a very interesting challenge.
Flip side - I have to make the N/A Evoras NOISIER - Ha!
3 Cats means any “Sports” system just doesn’t cut it. The pre-cats on the shopping trolley V6 are mahoosive! - and very restrictive.

Muu, I’ve got one of those turning up tomorrow for the SC Honda

Neil.
Oh cool, let me know how you get on. Decat too?
10 whp/wtq gain over the Janspeed that was on their.
Now running 275 @ the hubs

Can’t wait to get it back now!

Neil.

If you want the quietest system, you use the new SDCP + the H2 chambered silencer (in either thru-diffuser or GT3 stylee).
A recent back-to-back dyno test (same car, same dyno) showed the revised 2bular 4-1+SDCP+H2 gave 12whp more than a.n.other equivalent combo).

That’s exactly the combo I had fitted to my Elise SC a couple of months, plus a re-map by Essex Autosport. Failed the noise limit at Goodwood spectacularly - static was fine (96db measured vs 98db permitted) but on drive-by it clocked 102db vs the 96db permitted. Admittedly that was on full chat near the top of the rev range, and on a cold day. Still, I had hoped it would be fine or at least close.

Sad to hear.
Goodwood is my local track and it’s important to me to continue to pass the noise limits there.
Latterly the standard exhaust is failing the drive by, so far they’ve just warned me, but the red card/black flag is not far away.
As the car is at Chris Tullets this week, I’ll post next week on what’s gone on, but it’s looking like 8x32" of quietness.

That’s a shame! This combo has passed at Bedford but tbh I’ve spent so much time trying to quieten hi-power SC’s that I’m going for a baffled box now.

8x32! with a 16g skin? - please post the weight of that baby

Will do.
But as I’m at 100Kg at the moment, I’m not too worried!

Any weight REDUCTION in that position on the car is to be welcomed.
I’m curious because if it weighs more than the std boat anchor - what’s the point?

The std is starting to get too loud anyway, so I need to do something.
The power will be up above 300 shortly.
I like the GT3 exhaust and a hole-less diffuser.
And finally,as I lent my car to Chris to do some dyno work on the manifold we have come to an agreement re costs.
