Any back box will be fine over 300 bhp since you wont get to a track with broken gears !!
lol ignore me i,m just jealous cos mines broke …
Ok, I will get some designs done and talk to Jim for him to tell me I am an idiot and I can’t do it like that then he can tell me how it should be done

Muu, I’ve got one of those turning up tomorrow for the SC Honda
Neil.
Oh cool, let me know how you get on. Decat too?
200 cell sports cat, it’s being mapped tomorrow. Will report back on the results.
Neil.
The larger SDCP is the way to go Ade. To drop 2db’s on a 300bhp SC install might take a sizeable slip-on - and you want to be future-proofed anyways.
Tailpipe slip-ons are commercially unviable for me anyhoo - I’m out.
Dang! This weather is gettin serious - going to shut down for the night. My surge-protector did its stuff but …
Jim you should do some V band setups for the track guys for no exhaust leak peace of mind…sure it adds a few bucks but it’s worth it…
Exactly Frank! jfk on here had the right idea. De-cat for the fun, Sports Cat for everything else - all V-Banded - quick and easy. Just a problem on Ade’s with the 70mm bore and of course, the ever-more-crazy noise limits.
I love my V band setup, so much easier, I will take off my SDCP and get it over to you Jim 2db on drive by is all I need to be able to be ok at Donny as I am just on 100db currently drive by
No probs Ade - working through the hols anyway! Let me know when it’s on its way.
Jim,
The set up you quoted me on, was that based on the largest possible sdcp for reduced noise, and would it be V-banded? I also prefer that set up, especially if you are going to make me a slip in cat too.
Talking about hi-power SC installs;
If you want the quietest system, you use the new SDCP + the H2 chambered silencer (in either thru-diffuser or GT3 stylee).
A recent back-to-back dyno test (same car, same dyno) showed the revised 2bular 4-1+SDCP+H2 gave 12whp more than a.n.other equivalent combo).
If you want to make the best noise, you use a revised 4-1+de-cat+whatever. The 4-1 raises the pitch of the exhaust note to a real scream.
If you CBA changing anything for the emissions tests, fit the Cat and just use the std 2bular 3-bolt flanges.
If you like to swap out the Cat for the de-cat, the V-band connectors makes it quick/easy.
They are comparatively expensive, they take more time to assemble/TIG-weld - time is everything to me now.
Adam, Ade has a problem because he has the 70mm bore system - it is just a pain to keep it below UK circuit noise limits.
The std 2bular SDCP is 120mm long, there isn’t a great deal of room left for a longer piece. Isn’t 84dbs quiet enough?
Apparently not - I have to design/build a 75dbs system for a European market - craziness.
but Jim static mine is fine as well it is always drive by that fails, surely the figures you are quoting is static @ 75db?
Nope, this is a drive-by at 50kms/hr - don’t think it’ll be a straight-thru design!
what is SDCP? cat?
Silenced De Cat Pipe
“Silenced De Cat Pipe”
Nope, this is a drive-by at 50kms/hr - don’t think it’ll be a straight-thru design!
Bet mine would pass that, it is only noisy at big throttle openings
Noise = not just exhaust but also supercharger whine / induction roar / gear whine etc etc …
Got to say tho Ade when I was spectating around Anglesea in April your car sounded fookin ace … second only to the noise of terrorists sequential box …
Yea Ades car USED to sound awesome
