Oulton Park

doesn’t sound good, I am so glad I decided not to do the day and instead take the front clam off my car to remove the rad for a little fettling at Proalloy

Oh bugger! Sorry to hear it was not what was expected. Especially after getting up at 4.45am, Steve. LoT and BaT it is then.

I hate it when that happens. BAT are the best in my opinion, although I did do a ‘focused events’ day at Donnington not that long ago and that was a great day. I have done Easy Track days (although not at Oulton) and haven’t really had any complaints.

I think that’s a bit rude to be honest. These people have just as much right to do track days as anyone. It’s not their fault that the day was overbooked or that the organiser hasn’t the wit to separate car types.

…and I’m not even a socialist. Poor people need to have fun too.

As much as I agree with you, the Corsa does look funny

But guys didnt get on due to having out of date licenses

you can’t really rip on the corsa owner for caring more about weight than image on a track day toy

my only problem with chavy track days is the standard of driving

Would look even funnier in your mirrors, flashing you to get out of the way!!!

Are they aerocatches on the corsa boot???

You’ve not been on a trackday with Fluffy then??

Those motors look positively track optimised beside his Hunk o’ Junk 306  And as JDS puts it the people who laughed when he arrived would find it even funnier when he was flashing them to get out of his way…well they would have been if it wasn’t sitting in a puddle of its own coolant in the pitlane

Have to agree that everyone has a right to participate. Good and bad driving isn’t related to how much you’ve got to spend on the car. Doesn’t matter whether they are in a Nova or a GT3RS if they don’t respect the rules its going to spoil someone’s day. I’ve probably had more trouble with 3 series BMWs and Porsches than I’ve ever had with Nova’s, etc.

Also agree that BAT are right up there when it comes to the organisation and making sure that everyone has a great time.

Many years ago I remember spending a day at Donny, there was a guy there in a 1.25 fiesta, he had a wail of a time and drove well all day, I spoke to him in the afternoon to find he was 17 and just passed his test. Driving standard is what it is all about not the speed of your car
And yes John I have moved over for sheds that look worse than the Nova

Totally agree that everyone is there to enjoy themselves no matter what the car and with the huge diversity of cars it is the organisers fault for not having sessions and overbooking.

However the driving standards were appauling which may have of course been due to frustration of people not being able to get on track. On one of the 5 laps I did I was cut up by a VW Beetle coming out of the pit lane across the bend line causing me to brake.

You had to be there to see it.

Of course we are very spoiled by Bat and LoT events and I know who will be getting my trackday cash in future.

Usually price gives the game away as to the type of TD it’s going to be and mostly I do weekdays, kind of a self regulation. Easytrack oversubscribing and screwing up your day not to mention causing danger to all the drivers present is totally irresponsible, who do they answer too? And why like any good business have they not made the call, apologised, refunded those who should not be there. I know I would and a few on here can vouch for BaT who did just that back in March of this year, we actually got a VERY hefty discount on an alternative day. Mostly Bat & some LoT for me :sunglasses:

That Corsa does raise a smile tho…Im sure the owner is aware of its stereotype, poor fella

I have emailed Easytrack to express my concerns but not heard anything yet.

Not expecting any cash back just putting it down to experience.

Easy track are known to be particularly bad for overbooking. I’ve done days at Bedford where they’ve booked 100 cars or more and the track limit is 40. Having said that, they are generally cheap. But focused events and javelin usually manage to book 10-20% less cars and still be as cheap, and that includes for weekend trackdays too.

I’ve found that the standard of driving doesn’t necessary correlate to the price paid, although I never pay more than 190 for a track day so I haven’t done a book a track/gold track day.

We paid 135, but for some reason they were selling it the week before the event for 169.

Looks like Easytrack will be having an extra large turkey for Xmas this year.

They’ve already got one running the show…

Just want to edit what I said earlier, BaT rang prior to the TD not a discount after. They realised there mistake I guess and asked if we’d mind moving, no problem. Just to be clear. Top stuff.

Be interesting to hear what Easytrack say…
