That blue Exige was an absolute weapon The rumours in th pits were a Japaese tuning company built 400+ BHP super charged Honda with the expensive top of the range (�17,000!!!) hewland 6 speed sequential gearbox on it.
Dave Harvey went over and had a look at the car and he said totting up all of the parts in his head he got to well over �90,000!!!
It wasn’t racing because it caught fire at the end of qualifying

Dont think it has anything to do with a japanese tuning company, if memory serves me correctly it was was built by Joe McCarthy(thief) from protohype racing.
Was supposedly 400 bhp at the hubs but I belive it was on abbeys dynapack recently and came out at 345bhp, still not bad but no where near what figures McCarthy was bantering around over in the states.
Will be good to see how long it holds together, im looking for 400+bhp myself, just nothing to do with McCarthy.

It was a different car to that which we’d all seen out before - same livery though, & it did have Prototype stickerage on it. It was immaculately prepped, & was flipping fast too.

Yeah evidently it was a ‘sister’ car to the well known one. Even Dave Harvey said it was immaculatly prepared and that is some going from mr perfectionist preperation himself!!

It blew up and puked a load of oil out the breather and had no compresssion on one cylinder. The engine was one of Joe’s and had some fancy liners etc. They were talking about putting a standard engine back in. It certainly was fast, about as quick as Tony’s Audi …

Tony’s car is considerably quicker (in a straight line) than my Honda + SC as I found on Saturday!
Also, I followed your car at Donni down the back straight in my M400 and I just about had the legs on you. Tonys car would monster my m400.
I’m sure your car is very quick and I would take the honda SC conversion anyday over the audi but in pure straight line performance terms that Audi conversion is awesome.

Same cars with different engines at the same bhp would surely be the same speed?

I have only been to Donny once which was the exiges annual trackday and was black flagged immediately over noise, i only completed about 5 laps so i hardly think thats a comparison
Yep, at the exiges.com track day. I did notice you only did a few laps.
How much over he noise limit were you? I’ve been debating taking my elise to a Donni track day (cheaper than testing ) but not sure if I’ll get thrown off.
