Just wish I had the cash to get the engine built…
You should speak direct with Stephen then Ade as he’ll make it easy for you to plan let alone fly through the job once you are ready
I’m sure he will, but without the ready cash to even start planning it is not worth it.
I hope to get some bits together over the next year, on my list so far
Harrop 1320 SC
Fitting kit for the above from the guys in Aus
collect the engine I have with Sincs and drop it with TC and get their opinion
Get a price to do it
…and to think everyone disagreed when I said a few years ago the Harrop 1320 SC was the way forward
Don’t worry, Frank will be along in a minute!!
I’m not convinced that it is, we’re runinng the HKS ones in LCUK this year.
How much is the Harrup set up?
if there is another option that is a like for like swop out (i have a lot invested in my charge cooler) then I am really interested.
I am not convinced the harrop is totally the way forwards but the std SC will not drive a built engine well enough, if there is a better option I will use it.
HKS one will work ok with any charge cooler, Harrop one may as well, might mean a modified pipe and plumbing but core bits are the same.
which model HKS?
IIRC the HKS is based on the rotrex blowers, so different kinda delivery to the positive displacement blowers.
if going down the HTV1320 route I’d also go DBW throttle so you can choke back the boost higher up the rev range if needed.
We use the GTS7040
Ah no not going to work for me, the harrop is a simple swop out if I use the kit from the guys down under.

Already have DBW as my car stated life SC
Everything needs a “kit” and nothing is a “simple swop” in my view but I’m always interested in options.
What sort of 'finished cost" is the Harrop, what sort of power? Is it stock ECU?

not really sure, I need to contact them to see if they will supply it without the ECU which is part of their kit, then I will either use the standard one and get EA to tune it or get a syvecs one or similar.
As for power that will depend on engine build and pulley size, but I would expect north of 350hp
The Harrop is good for 400bhp, but it’s also lot more efficient (lower charge temps). Although you do loose the supercharger whine with Harrop.
The supercharged vx220’s use the Harrop as an upgrade over the m62 charger when going for more than 300bhp.

From memory the Harrop is about 1200, but it will require a custom manifold on our cars.
As a kit that looks reasonable value from SSC including their ECU, not sure what the exchange rate is but the HKS kit would be nearer 4k
- supercharger
- pulley
- supercharger oil cooler
- supercharger traction oil
- ECU
We run this kit with a standard NA inlet manifold so it’s ideal if you want to do an NA car but we keep manifolds on the shelf as well.
I would only ever do this with a proper ECU, I wouldn’t do the chopped up T4E thing to be honest. EP, SSC or Syvecs a much better way to go. I saw a GT2 that had a Syvecs set up at the weekend and he was very complimentary.
SSC are running 450 bhp on their track car with this system.I think (from memory) they use ‘1000’ injectors.
