I don’t think there were any to be fair? Everyone agreed from early on that the coolers and their fittings were going to cause them some issues, it’s not rocket science.
Mine is being done by a Lotus Service Centre, Statstones. Hoses came off but the couplings on the cooler are damaged so they have gone to Lotus for a new cooler, all at no cost. It will take a few days to get the cooler.
Stratstones have been informative, done exactly whist the said they would do and are fitting my big brake kit whilst the clam is off (clam is off to fix the cooler).
Given that my car is nearly nine years old and is used as Chapman intended I am so far very happy with the way it is being handled by Lotus and Stratstones.
I didn’t get a letter, but checked the VIN and just booked in at B&C for early December. Definitely a clam-off jobbie for them, and they asked to leave it with them overnight. New tow post going in for the hell of it, had a new rad earlier in the year. Asked for an Exige V6 courtesy car - no harm in asking, right?!
I had a look at one being done at my local dealer on sat prior to mine going in next week. Without clam off looks a bit of a challenge to get good access to undo the unions on top of each cooler, both for removal and to re-tighten and the cross over pipe between the two coolers would be hard to access, mine will be done with clam off.
Just realised that I’m not likely to have a market for the oil coolers that are coming out of mine in favour of Laminova. You’ll all have had them changed under warranty
You think you all have problems?
I have about a dozen of so new oil coolers in stock…
How long before Lotus no longer have stock and they are on back order. not long I hope.
Better start looking at what the retail price is from lotus and carry out some price realignments!!!
