A triple pass is a radiator for cooling the liquid.
An oil cooler is for cooling the oil.
They are different. I fitted a triple pass but it has no connection to this recall.

where’s the oil cooler? presumably in the front yeah
Pretty much straight infront of the front wheels
Ah, the open road
Yup as above. Too tiny little coolers on and off side of the car. Connected with thick hosing in a circuit that links back to the rear block above the oil filter.
Or in my case
“Straight in line with a stone on the way to Anglesey”
I’ve owned the car from new, bought from a Lotus dealer, so no surprise I’ve not received a letter .
I sent them an email, gave them the chassis number and they confirmed the car was affected by the recall. Even so I’m not going to worry about it.
Got the letter
Hope they extend this fix to specialists - reckon that could happen?
Rad will be changed too if they do, probably not if they don’t, well I’d get a quote for fixing free-issue parts anyway.
Same as me. Front brake lines, rad / fans and tow mount whilst the clams off
Checked with Lotus Customer Service today…informed that my car: 54 plate N/A S2 with Touring pack (twin oil coolers) is NOT affected by this recall, does this sound right?
I provided VIN and Registration number.
Perhaps the oil coolers were added later as per my car. Didn’t think that the early Touring pack cars had any front oil coolers. Mine originally just came with a basic sandwich plate laminova.
Received my letter from Lotus today telling me to book my car in with the dealer to have the pipes replaced. They have allowed 4hrs of labour to carry out the work so not sure its a clam off job.
My thoughts exactly. Doing this job through the arches is going to be a ball ache. They’ve obviously done what they can to avoid all the clam off labour.
Had a second letter today , must get it booked in
Front clam is off on the recall. They have to for the cross over feed. Lotus UK have just confirmed this.
4 hours for the whole job? How can a clam be properly cared for and all that work done in 4 hours?
I spent about 20 doing my rad and whilst it was a first time, even now I would still have to guess 10 hours at best.
^ No problem doing that in 4 hours on a newish car. 30 mins off, 40 mins or so on again and align, rest of the time to change all the pipes/ends/whatever they are doing.
Not so sure on a car that’s more than a few years old though.
Got an e-mail today from Lotus Customer Services inviting me to book mine into local dealer to be checked out.
In my experience 4 hrs is extremely lean.
I am hearing certain lotus dealers are stating a 2 day job.
I’ll book mine in with them and leave it with them for as long as they feel they need, rather than expect it done the same day.
