Hi guys,
Can I ask how often you change your oil and oil filter. I dont really use my car on the road, just for trackdays. The anglesey trackday this weekend will be the fifth trackday (all open pit lane) for my Honda SC car since the last change. Should I have done it by now ?
Cheers,
DSE
I change the oil every 3 trackdays and the filter once a year maybe 8 or 10 trackdays.
Check the oil: If its black and smelly it could do with a change.
As a rule, I do it every 3 TD’s.
Every 3 for me as well oil and filter, unlike Jonny the cheapskate
thanks. I have just checked and 3 of those five where in torrential rain so the car had a relatively easy time. I will get it changed. now
thanks again.
Can you save the old oil for me M8 !! lol

Did mine yesterday - you gotta be mad not to do the filter at the same time?!
Filter is only 9 quid or something, and it takes about 5 mins to do.

Can I ask where you get your bits from ? Also, can someone confirm the sku code for the oil filter please?

I get oil online from Opie oils http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ - Silkolene Pro S 5W-40
Filters I got from the local Honda dealer - they are 15400-RBA-F01 (I think the original part number I had was 15400-PFB-004)

Thank you for that !
Is that the oil filter from an ATV or jet ski or something ? I think its shorter than the standard one ?

Not that I’m aware no…it was a standard part in the dealers and they had loads in stock.
Dave
Is your filter “remote”, or is it still mounted in the oem position? If the latter, I thought you needed a “short” filter, otherwise it catches on the subframe.
I have the “Edwards” remote type, accessed through the wheelarch…apparently!

Oh right. Last time I did it someone recommended this other part because it had a higher flow or something and was interchangable. I maybe wrong here.

Mine is still in the standard location - Link-Up installation.

Mine is in the standard position as well. Confused now.
Daves filter is not remote. The standard filter as DaveP says above should fit, Dave.
You can get shorter ones…I hear the best is the hamp:
HAMP (H1540-PFB-515) from oemjampart
Renault UV82 00 867976
or normal sized as above:
Honda 15400-PFB-004 Or 15400-PFB-014

Thanks for clarifying Paul.
Too many Daves, methinks!
