Yes got air con and yes the heater still works, The wires are about 3mm thick!
Ive got the circuit diagrams out but to be honest i cant make head nor tail of them!

OK with the wires that thick I am deffo going for rad fan wires. The wiring diagram only shows one fan with wire colours BLUE/GREEN and BLACK. Now aircon cars had two fans and they work at different speeds dependant on if the AC is on or off and stuff like that. I have just cross referenced the AC wiring diagram, but unfortunatly the colour codes are blurred and I can’t make them out.
Any chance you can take an post up a picture?

The AC wiring diagram is page 24 of the Air conditioning, heating and ventilation section. Section PH of the Lotus Service Notes

You should see the cooling fans on the wiring diagram (they are not next to each other on the diagram though), if you can tell me the letters that are next to the wires somewhere along there run, we should be able to work it all out.

B = Black
P = Purple
G = Green
OK, well that pisses on our bonfire.
Keep looking for the colours in question on that diagram. I am pretty sure we are on the right lines.
U = Blue
LG = Light Green
Y = Yellow
G = Green (this will be the dark green you mention)
So Green Blue will = GU or UG and so on, depending which colour is more dominent on the wire.
