NW Meet 6th November

Anyone fancy meeting up to watch a VSCC trials event? I’ve never attended one, but 83man assures me that they are hugely entertaining.

Details as follows:

A regular favorite of the VSCC Trials season returns once again to the beautiful Lake District. The Smith family continues at the helm of this successful event, with superb trials sections located in beautiful woodland linked by stunning roads alongside the famous lakes. The unique challenge of Drumhouse quarry makes the trip on the M6 well worth it, boosted by a great social atmosphere all weekend.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION There is no charge to watch this event but a car park fee is payable at Honister Slate Mine where Drumhouse is situated. Details of the best spectator stages are available from the trial HQ at the Wheatsheaf Inn, Lorton. Please do follow any signs or directions when on the Forestry Commission sites.

DIRECTIONS The trial is based around The Wheatsheaf Inn at Lorton, on the Cockermouth to Buttermere Road although most competitors choose to stay in Keswick, the social base for the event. [/color]

Nice one Steve - I presume you’re up for it? Thanks for your comment GP - good to hear you’ve previously enjoyed this type of event.

May even “stopover”, to enjoy a noggin or two

  1. Pesky
  2. Thommo

Ive enjoyed this event many times over the last 25 years or so. I just might come along with Sherman. Btw, is the smith family Dick Smith the dentist?

Nice one Tim - as well as Sherman, can you persuade Mr Bestwick & Mr Gravett to come along too?

PS Smith family - no idea, mate!

I’ll give it a go

Sounds interesting…might be up for it as a trip out with the missus (and who says romance is dead!?.

Undoubtedly, that’d be Mrs Porter!

This still on guys?

The VSCC Trial is certainly still on but Rob probably will not make it I guess.

If anyone else wants to co-ord attendance let me know and I’ll provide spectator info as required.

Cheers Mike, & Steve - I’m still up for this.

Any other takers?

Would have been up for this but instead I will be suffering a bunch of Indian chicken farmers crossing swords with Pesky’s local pie gobblers.

Aye up!
Forgotten all about this but thanks for timely reminder. Yep shd be ok to attend. Keep lines of communication open . . .

I seem to recall a Dick Smith from Cockermouth(?). Was he into Frazer-Nashes? Seen him competing at Barbon HillClimb???

Mike is it on the Sunday as well?

Not sure if I will make it or not, but probably not. Although I’m feeling great, walking a couple of miles a day, & cleared for driving. Still at my sister’s - & being very well looked after, I must say! However, plan on taking it easy/not driving for another couple of weeks - no point in taking any chances if I don’t need to at this stage.

Spent a few hours out in my mate’s 430 Scuderia yesterday - could have driven if I’d wanted to, but I’m saving that experience, as I want it to be memorable (for the right reasons  )

No, just Saturday
