Good to hear from you, Graham,
And thank you for the endorsement of forums such as exiges.com.
Looking forward to another Euro tour with you and the Nyloc gang.
Assuming the Spain tour is off for this year, Count me in for the rearranged effort
Its the proportions of the S1 that make it the best looking road car ever, even better than the Mclaren F1.There are so many things which make it perfect. The Kamm tail, the side window line, the nose intake, the radiator outlets. It really is a mini group C car.I am lucky enough to have a 997 GT3RS and the S1 attracts 10 times the attention, even from people who are not petrolheads.
Welcome back, Ducatiman. Keep us posted on the S1 and the RS. Love em both
I still think the orginal smilies were easier to ‘read’ and looked much friendlier than what we have had since the big ‘upgrade’ years ago.
That and we have learnt / modded everything that is possible under normal owner budget possibilities, so there is less adventure to discuss / debate / post about.
At heart I believe most of us are secretly proud to be S1 Exiger’s rather than elise’rs and while we say we are not cliquey like seloc used to be or fuddydudy like TLF, there is a certain irony. But thats very much in the private mind and not reflected in our forum welcomingness (yeah yeah I made up the word) and in particular at meets/events.
Aside of the very decent people I have got to know from exiges, the stand out difference for me is the serious nature of driver skill on exiges. Hand on heart I could throw my keys to 90+% of exigers without the feeling of ‘what the hell am I thinking?!’ Whereas in any other group (NYLOC excepted I would say) I may find myself in, that number would be 1% or less. I love the commitment to driving and racing skills development we all share here.
Years ago I was explaining to Miss Double D how she will not believe that this group of people will likely be the best group of drivers she will ever meet regardless of age. Meet MrBean
We adore you Clive
The more trips and events we can do the more we can post up.
One new thought I have is FB, Seloc, NYLOC all are ‘private’ sites. Only exiges, TLF snd US lotusTalk are still public.
Is there now an element that we would post more again if it were ‘private’ these days?
I think I would.
On the noble - too kit car, too niche for finding servicing in a ‘nice’ Lotus type environment, and minimal special racetrack heritage feeling.
Can’t disagree with your post
S1 Exige - totally unique car - totally unique owners - I raise my glass to you/us
Hi Guys, hope you’re all well.
I randomly look at exiges these days, mainly to see if the Anglesey day is still on, and I saw this thread. It reminded me of a funny occurrence on one of the very first Anglesey track days, organised I think by Lotus Ribble Valley (RIP).
Pesky and I had driven across and saw a Noble M12 for the first time, on his way to the track day. Being friendly types, we chatted with him in the paddock and wondered out loud whether it would be faster than our then-standard S1’s. He was a nice chap and commented that he would certainly hope so, given the price difference between them. Pesky and I gave each other a sideways look and went into the briefing.
Later in the day he asked if we could take him out in the Exige. I feel that Exiges honour was upheld, and he went away a wiser man.
The one about the TVR Sagaris is another story…
Great to see your post Russ - hope all is good with you
What super memories with the Exiges.com crowd I have - best folk and banter you could ever wish for! Spa weekend I will take to my grave:)
Btw have the chords now to Eagles song - Pesky link to video
Stay safe all
Great to hear from you Russ and Simon. All those memories are just before my time on here. But the sentiments expressed about “Exigeness” as Pesky would have put it are still holding true
What’s facebook?
What machines!!
Neighbours must think you’ve robbed a bank. Incredible pair of motor cars. Which one to take for a drive . . . ?
Lol - neither they are both SORN bloody CV
The keeper is the Exige
Brilliant Simon Exige is looking fantastic, definitely keeping it??
I’d have the Exige over the Macca.
The Exige is stunning, a show car but you need a better solution to hold open the engine cover. Not a piece of wood.
Fantastic Simon
The wood is an official exiges.com item.
Mine even gets use on my Evora.
Fantastic pics!
Cheers chaps
Really pleased with how the new engine cover perspex fitted - although it was very fiddlely to get right.
That is no ordinary piece of wood - it is b&q finest dowel with rubbers on either end!
Itching to get out to put a few more miles on.
