Noble V S1 No Contest

Cheers for posting Thommo :+1:
What a great day was that on Salisbury Plain
The Noble was indeed an excellent car and the owner was a real enthusiast _ a lot like us guys

The most abiding memory was Steve Sutcliffe’s parting comment that is was the first time whilst testing a Noble that it hadn’t broken down :astonished:

Been fettling the little beastie over the last few days - itching for the end of this interminable lockdown.

Cheers

Great to hear from you, Simon. So glad you have kept the faith. What a bash we’ll have when we can all get together. Maybe we need to think about that. . . . central venue, curry, that sort of thing.

And thanks to everyone for piling in. Great to get a non- contentious chat going. Not that there is ever anything contentious on here.
Keep it going

I would like that. I have met only one of you lot before and would be good to say hello to people

Yep, I think we should have a “meet” but as Dame Vera Lynn sang: “We’ll met again . . . who knows where, who knows when”!

Is Benja still stealthing around do we know?

Benja’s engine is still running sweetly in my Exige.
Would be def up for a meet up after all this gloom :+1:
Thommo I have come so close to letting the Exige go in the past - thank the lord I came to my senses in time

Sounds like great idea Steve.

Fab post Steve, glad my dad’s stunning S1 helped with your decision to eventually buy one yourself
I think the S1 shape is getting better with age and will continue to do so, but then again we are biased :nerd:
Both my dad and I did like the noble and even contemplated purchasing an m400 when they came out, we even drove down to Peter Smiths sports cars to test drive one ( my god that was and is a very quick car) I must admit the noble hasn’t aged well and thankfully my dad never jumped at the offer and it was a very good offer on his own car.
Can’t wait to get back out in the cars when this finally all eases.

Interesting isn’t it how many people have “dabbled” with the idea of buying a Noble.

I agree. The bullsh1t runs very deep on Seloc, the quality sites get way less but then you are not stuck with opinionated rubbish. Better and true friendships are made on Exiges and the likes if MLOC etc IMO.

I’m another that dabbled with the idea of a Noble before buying the Exige. Was very close to buying a m400 until I found out how much a friend had lost in the first year of m12 ownership. Never ever regretted buying the Exige and getting to know folks on here. Meet after this is over sounds great.

Nobles are still very distinctive and once upon a time I considered one too but fortunately I chose the S1.

Only my opinion but I’m not sure the M12/M400 has aged that well; certainly not the front end in my eyes.

The S1 has aged better than the Noble and would be my preference if I had the cash/space and wanted a divorce!

Only problem with the S1 Exige these days is that you always get asked if it’s a genuine one :unamused: , I also had that with an Escort Cosworth ,which was one of the reasons I sold it.
The Noble still looks great to me, problem is reliability.

Regarding this forum going quiet, the damage was done years ago because new potential members weren’t getting their requests activated, even with full member recommendations.
I put forward many Exige owners without any success plus a fair few members getting banned and all post history getting deleted never helped…………FB Groups appear to be the future

FB Groups appear to be the future

Nay, lad . . . keep with the forums. My cycling club abandoned forum in favour of FB. I resisted but had to join in the end under protest. Can’t find a bloody thing on there when you want it. Proper flummoxed

Agree. It will come full circle.

completely agree with this, I’m a FB person so I could try to follow Old School BMX Life, but there might be loads of great post and information, but you can’t find it, bring back forums

I know what you mean with FB Groups, you can find what you want one minute and the next minute you can’t

This forum is probably the best source of archive information for the S1
