New Exige V6 - Is it really an Exige?

Without the key visual cues and agressiveness of the original, do we really consider the Exige V6 an Exige?

Personally, I don’t think of it as an Exige. More a very powerful Elise/Evora type car.

An Exige must surely look like one? With roof scoop and spine for example, and an aggressive look.

What does it say on the tin?

It says exige but then I have a jar in my garage that says robinsons strawberry jam on it, however I would not put size 8 pozi woodscrews on my toast.

Classic, ROFLMAO

Twinscrews are my preferred choice!!

Quite honestly within an hour of posting that I worked in a garage with an old tin of gold blend full of rusty old bolts and thought that would of made a good analogy

The new exige is growing on me but I really am not keen on the roof or the glass hatch.
It would of been better imho had they not used the existing elise hardtop and had spent some money in that dept, It just makes it look like an elise with a hard top.
The S2 exige gets some stick and I think that had lotus launched it supercharged with a cup roof and proper spoiler it would never of been given the ‘elise coupe’ moniker as they really beef it up.
I will wait to see the V6 in the flesh as I think as usual lotus have not picked the best launch colour, black or red (obviously) would of looked far better.

Much prefer the look of the mule cars with the riveted spats tbh, (hmmm wonder if they will sell one…).

Really don’t like the arse end of the releasaed version, more for the american market perhaps??

Dude that car has an ass end only a basket ball player would like…

To much junk in the trunk…

GLOL

I still think the S1 was the only proper Exige. With all the changes they did compared to the Elise. It even had the air cooled engine cover hinge

I have a jar that says naga Chilli. Yum.

A bit hot around the bum though

It needs the roof scoop , I have asked if the same roof as the rally car be an option , I know it just cosmetic but so was my old NA S2 Exige scoop .

Cabin ventilation

Thought you wouldn’t pay more than 50K anyway!

It’s 49999.99
IDK I’m back a forth on this one , it’s a shed load of money for me , I’m still paying for the one I have and it’s a great car + I have no carpets or curtains in my house that I have been renovating for the last 12 years + I got engaged to a girl that hates my car and wants me to have a RR sport and i need to pay the wedding in two years BUT …

GLOL, fantastic

You sound like me, mine is finally paid for (last month) and I swore that was the last payment I would make, then I sat in the Evora again and fell in love.
Married in four weeks and I want to move in spring after just finishing this house
The new exige is growing on me in the right colour and I fancy the power but I would wait for the ex managers cars at a year old.
I just think I would get pissed off with it as I really doubt it will be a great leap forwards from what I have ( power aside) So I still think if I change it will be an evora…

Yeah it’s a tough one , the Evora S is out of my price range, I do think the V6 is a grower especially if you can have the roof scoop and if the spec is what they say then it’s a giant killer …
I remember when the S2 came out it was the same thing with the S1 boys that hated it but now some of them own an S2 , is it an Exige ? Well IMHO for the first time the Exige is more than just an Elise with a different bodywork and a supercharger on some , just needs a roof scoop .

Looks nice from this angle , I’m not keen on the wheels though but there an option .

Might look better from the side angle if the lower sill was painted black like on the Evora GTE?

I do like it from that angle and I quite like the wheels tbh, I am just not yet convinced I would feel much different than if I were in my car.
