NA Build....

Oh bugger! Hope it’s not terminal.

Thinking of you ( and the bank balance )

Nooo mate :frowning:

What a pisser, I’m sure it’ll be back in action soon huh…

Buddy :frowning:

:frowning:

Oh no! :frowning:

:frowning:

Fingers crossed nothing serious Jonny

Hope you sort it soon and it’s not too expensive jonny

Not too gutted fella’s, it wasn’t without it’s possibilities. Obviously I want to know what happened, just not sure what to do next until Track Group diagnose the problem. Keen to carry on as is though

Good opportunity to fit a Honda mate  :smiling_imp:

Knew that was coming lol

No No No
Standard engine with a supercharger
Now that would be cool…

Lol that too…now where’s John, Chris or Sean…

The PCV fills the Radium catch tank in 3/4 20 mins sessions all the time. The breather hardly ever filled. When changing the alternator recently I saw the pipe to the manifold from the breather was kinked so realigned it. During lunch yesterday when checking both catch cans they were both full. Now it’s always bothered me I get through so much oil but I thought the size of the intake was probably to blame. Should I be collecting that much oil and should I have posted this sooner

Not sure if every DDPR (with a 90mmTB) modified car gets the drilling I give my car considering is never sees low cam, I’m looking for cause and not blame. I just thought because I rag it on high cam that was the reason for the oil collecting…

Edit…the manifold was blowing as I came in from my last session before lunch, lost a nut and had a loose bolt (2 out of 5). Just something else, maybe the reason for so much oil from the breather. Just checked them again PCV almost full, breather near empty…after another 3 sessions.

Running on the ‘high’ cam all the time should be no issue at all mate… it was built to do that. Jap engines are renowned for handling such ‘abuse’… sounds like just bad luck or a failure… perhaps something as simple as an oil control ring breaking causing all that oil loss…

Whatever, it is a bugger mate… feel gutted for you. :open_mouth:

BTW, don’t ever ‘Honda’ or SC your car mate… I mean ‘NA still rocks’ and you always could drop a ‘K’ in it!!!

argh that sucks, but does sound like oil related issue if it’s PCV’ing that much!

Dry sump next?

Just seen this and very sorry to read :frowning:

Don’t know how I missed this, spending too long on mini forums!
Sorry to hear this JF.
Hope you get it fixed.
That sounds like an awful lot of oil in the catch cans, with reference to mine which can be emptied every 3-4 track days.

Is yours NA Graham… Oh no its Supercharged…

The oil does bother me but… Not as much as these exhaust valves.

Rang John, checked compression and had a route about with a borescope, 1,3 & 4 were fine but I couldn’t get 2’s spark plug out. Took off the exhaust manifold and as you can see the problem was staring me right in the face. So nothing more I can achieve doing anymore work myself so off toTrack Group on Tuesday to see whats salvageable.

Edit, should have bought these in the first place like I was advised.
