NA Build....

Any plans to cover up those coil packs J/F?
Look prone to water that’s all.
Can just imagine you coming out of the hairdressers after a rain shower and calling the AA

looks very cool indeed

Fab! :sunglasses:

Looking lovely John… Need to hear and see it coming past the pit wall now!!

Any reason for aiming the fire ext nozzle at the fuel tank?

MSA race regs have you point them toward the manifolds. 2 in the back of mine aiming at either side of the engine.

It’s just hanging loose Gav, it’ll face the other side of the engine. The other is fixed on the fuel rail.

Very cool Johnny!

That gold film does it for me… MUCH better than boring CF!

Lol cheers Pete.

I have plans John, Mark H plans but Reverie style…

Very nice , it makes me want to take my car to bits reading these threads .
What sort of gain has the inlet manifold given you ?

Ask his wife! :stuck_out_tongue:

Its not just the inlet maifold, its the combination of that, the exhaust manifold and ECU with 12.5 compression. 42bhp up to 231bhp.

Yeah, just wondered how much of it was the manifold and why.

Nothing, it lost power using stock exhaust.

Edit. Went from 209bhp stock inlet and exhaust manifolds 12.5 compression to 207bhp with DDPR inlet and stock exhaust manifold.

I realise that it takes a remap to get the most out of the new parts , just wondered what parts made what difference after , do the manufacturers give a rough idea of HP gains for the ECU and the inlet manifold seperately after a remap ?
Also 209hp was a good result standard , has other work been done to the engine before .

Nope engine was a complete new build to spec. No garantees on the box. I’m sure there may be a gain here or there dependent on each individual mod but this was based on similar builds with proven performance done by DDPR. You NEED all three to make such high gains, although a Power FC was used on the Celicas and Jim knew exactly what was required to get the most out of the build. Are we going around in circles Lol

we can get generally 210 with cams and ECU alone with big mid range gains, after that more power starts to get more expensive

Interesting , can the same cams be used on a supercharged car ?

Not entirely sure we need em m8 …
Limiting factor on ours is ,as we know the dreaded gearbox

Yes, they can although we did need to use a different profile for the 2ZZ Turbo we do use the same cams for NA and sc

I have 285s in mine, carried over from when it was NA. Good results but the return to idle has always been an issue, unless the idle is set relatively high. Would probably be easier with an electronic throttle.

OK so waiting for the car to come home I’m going to get the body wrapped in Satin Black vinyl. I cant afford to paint it and track it both this year so I’m wrapping and tracking until the penny’s are saved up.

So I want everything to be just so, that includes the underside of the bodywork, so I’ve given it a paint, looks good a lot neater in fact!
