Excellent JF

Brought the clam home, thought I’d access what needs to be done before the car goes off for engine install early New Year.

I know it’s a galvanised structure the rear subframe but it’s remarkable clean - have you done anything to it, or just cleaned it?

In fairness you should have the galvanising removed Jonny. It’s surprising how much weight that adds. I am sure someone told me 3kg’s.

This is true. The Cup 260 wasn’t galvanised but had a different coating to save weight. The issue with galvanising is that as it cools, after removing it from the dip, it starts to solidify leaving the excess to stick in the various crevices and not drain off thus increasing the weight.

Yea ditching the boot, track car buddy most of what I need will sit next to me to and from.

Gav said I should paint the rear subframe to make it look nice. I agree but I just can’t be arsed. Same would have to apply to removing the galvanised coating which I have tried to clean but still looks s**t. I think the flash helps how it looks in the photo.

Is it OCD to have the extinguisher nozzle brackets made out of Titanium…

Maybe the start of something…

So all done the extinguisher , just the external switches to fit but not until the bodywork is done.

Like what your doing JF … looking very :sunglasses:

Real progress. You must feel you’re almost there. Nothing like a bit of titanium to help things along

Cheers fellas

Utter Porn! Christmas present from 2bular, thx Jim.
