I’ve got a ropey (iphone pics) one on SELOC. Need to do an update really.
Well it’s sold. Don’t really know how to feel to be honest. It has gone to a friend of a friend, so I guess I will see it come together over the rest of this year.
Ho hum.
Well done Sean, at least you know its gone to a good home
Yeah, well done for selling it part assembled.
Time for a V6 maybe??
He’ll be back, gayer and more ginger than ever
V6 is pointless if you want to go on track… looks a nice road car though…
I do think that ‘the next one’ will not be so track focused
Out of interest, why is the V6 pointless on track Dave?
Too heavy matey!
Would cost a fortune to track it… speak to Gav… he went out in one on track recently at Croft and got out of the car saying something along the lines of ‘I now have no desire to take mine on track at all…’
Having not done that, I can’t be bothered banging the drum with those boys and there big consumables either. I think the S1 & 2 hold the middle ground quite well. Having said that Sean buddy we’ve talked about road trips abroad and the odd Euro TD and I think that’s where a car like the V6 or GT3 comes into it’s own.
You are somewhat predisposed to tinker with things Sean,…I reckon wherever you get on again you’ll gravitate back towards where you just got off
Whatever, I look forward to the day when you’re back on circuit in something a bit slower and I can punish you
Ah sad day Sean but I fully understand why …
V6 too heavy ? interesting … so if you wanted a value for money dual purpose daily that you take on a decent trip and run some tracks what would you take ? Have been giving that some serious thought and there really isn’t that much around …
For me…it would be a 911 GT3… no question.
Although I think once you have felt a ‘race car’ on track, any dual-purpose car is going to feel very compromised… I guess quite a few of us have come from that route in the past - My M3 CSL was probably as close as you could get to an ultimate ‘one car do it all’ type thing… but you end up suffering in both places… You make it better on track, it gets worse on the road… and vice versa.
Plus… I could never drive it as hard as I wanted to on track, as it was my pride and joy and daily transport… that held me back on track and stops you from pushing that bit extra to develop your driving.
Of course the GT3 could never be described as too heavy. At least not as far as the rear end is concerned…
And a GT3 is en expensive way to fetch the weekly shop !!
Apparently the gears are taller than a very tall thing as well
I’m not saying I’d have a GT3 over my car… I was just answering AndyD’s question… If I could only have one car to do some european trips in and the odd track day… GT3 it would be.
I agree with Dave but GT3 is proper expensive to buy and use on circuit.
I was chatting with and looking over Colin Briggs’ 981 Cayman-S as Anglesey and that is a fine machine and was going really well I thought. There’s an R/GT3 of the 981 rumoured or the previous Gen Cayman-R for under £40k.
As an all rounder to meet the brief I reckon that would be a great package. I don’t think it would be an ‘event’ driving one like it is an exige but as a complete package that won’t hurt your wallet like a pukka GT3…
