My new zaust

This afternoon Jim came down to Edinburgh to give me a hand with something we have been chatting about for sometime now. The concept was to produce a track friendly, single exit exhaust designed similar to an Arqray but to take the extra flow of the up coming SC.
Here are some pics of the standard and the Tubular zausts.

And big thank you for Mark who kindly allowed us to use his garage and tools. I owe you a beer when you are next in Dublin J

The old zaust was taken out as was the rear panel and heat shielding.

The Heat shielding had to be trimmed

The size of the box is quite large but seems to work well

Had to do a bit of a short-term fix for the diffuser struts and number plate holder
[image]http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y201/jamieall/IMG_3499.jpg[/image]
Really pleased with the finished look and that fact the 4x4 number plate fits!

Jim tells me the box will get louder with the extra gas flow from the SC but as is I am guessing its similar to the stage 1. Both Mark and myself were impressed with the quality of the noise too. It is defiantly quieter than the Larini on Marks car. Jim recons its about 98db but that could rise with the Sc to closer to 101db. It is only weighs in at 6.4kg.

On the cards is a sports cat will keep informed of developments, off to KH tomorrow after work

Dave need that diffuser sharpish

Looking good Jamie!

Ozzer, snap!
You should try the 4x4 reeg plate show your Arqray off

Nice on Jamie

“Dave need that diffuser sharpish”
I’m on the case

Looks good - have you had to insulate the back of the number plate to stop it melting? What is the distance from the back of the plate to the box?

THe red one looks fantastic.

(beware, numpty asking question)
Does it interfere with airflow once the diffuser thingy has gone

… the extra flow of the up coming SC.
:

are you changing your car or going for a ragnorak kit (or similar)

looks superb if nothing else.

The standard one is horrid - I remember it was my only criticism of the new yota powered S2 looks when it first launched.

Should look even better when its been warm and colours up a bit

Have you seen the elephants trunk the’ve stuck on the new Exige S That’ll have you curled up on the floor in stitches…

Just been on thetrack and no probs the box runs very cool (you can touch it after been out for 10 laps !) There is about an inch of space.

It actually improves air flow and cooling (this a big issue once a SC goes on.

I am going for the Ragnorakracing 280RR kit having it fitted mid May

Looks great. I’m still deciding what to do about my exhaust, I’m either going to get my Stage 2 modified to exit above the diffuser, or have something custom built. Modifying the Stage 2 would probably be cheepest, but it would probably be even noisier. How much did your exhaust cost?

Another couple of simple questions. What are you going to do for reflectors, and where did you get the struts to support the diffuser. Oh, and did you put any of the heat shielding back in to protect the floor of the boot?

Cheers
Will

Modding the stage two may be more trouble than its worth
Price wise talk to Jim about that his web site is www.2bular.com
Supports are temp measures till my diffuser is made (Dave )
as they are a little close to the zaust but Jim sorted me out with them.
Reflectors will be left off till I get told to put them on

hi ozzer/jamie

where did you boys get the rear panel eliminator kit from as yours are 2 uprights at at angle as apposed to hanger111 kit which is 4 uprights all straight??
cheers

Ozzer’s is a Sector 111 (US Hanger 111 partner)
Mine Jim made up for me. He is currenly making up a set to go with my new diffuser.

Not a fan of Hangers 4 chunky ones

I made the struts from Stainless turnbuckles Craig. The tube is very close to the large dia silencer and I will be using smaller tube for production items. The silencer covered the std grill holes in the diffuser, so I had to drill a couple extra! For the other end I just used the std holes in the boot floor. Numberplate bracket design in the works.

Jamie,

Are Hangar111 fitting the SC kit? Are you allowed to tell us how much it costs - there is no mention of it on their site,

Cheers,

Adrian
