Thought you’d gone for the Arqray Craig?
If you go for the 280RR you may want to look at the following
uprated clutch (or you can just use the standard until it dies)
AccuSump (if tracking) the kit does comes with a higher spec oil pan
LSD (optional helps to get the power down)
I am sure Jim could hook you up with something nuts!

Not necessarily jim, cant get definative answer on stock levels availability and delivery.
The car was in at the dealer today and they have finally found the cause of the noise I get at 2500rpm. (I have been bitching about it for almost a year) Its the heat shielding around the U-bend! Apparently the weld is bust and thats why I only get the noise when the car is cool.
Getting it sorted under warranty
They also found half a gravel trap in the diffuser some of which has gone into the side pods
Jamie,
Help me out.
The Arqray single tip doesn’t work with the Super Charger?
Thanks

I think its the track day noise police that its incompatible with

OK will have a go!
The Arqray will work with the SC BUT and will get louder with SC
1 Arqray is very loud (louder than stage 2)
2 It is also designed for a n/a engine application
3 The Arqray will restrict the higher gas flow of the SC
The SC will produce more gas and more heat.
I wanted some thing that would sound great and get into track days.
Jim was able to make a zaust with all these things in mind
It runs cool - you can touch the box after 10 laps!
It runs quietish - currently around 98db this might creep up with the SC on.
It has the larger ‘bore’ think it stays at 2.5 inches instead of going down to 2.25 inch
The Arqray style is also good as its a couple less bends that the gasses have to pass through plus less weight plus better air flow to the cat
Jim will be also making a special high flow cat as the standard will be a hp killer
Will post more as I know more
Just between you and me I want the beast to be as close as I can get to 300hp
Was asked if my car was the new GT3 Exige at Knockhill on Sun
I’m finding that the edge of the rear clam, just above the exhaust/cat joint is getting very hot. I think this is because of the hot air exiting the heat shield from the bend in the cat pipe.
Seem to be a few options:
- put up with it, hopefully its not hot enought to blister the paint?
- fit some reflective heat shield tape to the underside of the clam
- remove the heat shield on the bend and see where the hot spots are then
- Use some exhaust wrap on the bend and cat instead of the existing heat shield.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?
Cheers

Yes, I’ve decided to ditch the factory heatshield for my Cat pipes, SCRP’s etc. As always, it was more than one thing/niggle that made my mind up.
The factory heatshield isn’t that effective - heat can easily escape from under the tin-foil.
It’s a pain lining up the brackets/captive nuts on the jig(!)
Uldis supplied me with some excellent Ceramic heat wrap (from nfauto.co.uk, page3 in their catalogue - use the 25mm size it’s easier to wrap around an exhaust pipe) for his manifold and after more than a few road miles and a couple of Trackdays, it’s still there - in pristine condition (unlike the last material, which disintegrated on touch). The ceramic material guarantees a good heatproofing and it’s woven with a Stainless mesh, so it’s robust enough to take some knocks.

I will have the high flow sports cat on the car for Donny!
It is rated to 375hp

Here is a drive by with the zaust and cat
Noise readings are (static)
94db @ 5000rpm
98db @ 6000rpm
Drive by - under 98db
