My Exige - opinions welcome, may be ignored ;-)

This is pre production so no front/rear spoilers or grilles the front arch vent & rear diffuser is one made for Cadena so just there to fill the gap - there will be several options of diffuser available

Where is the exhaust?
Any particular reason for the expanded metal on the front inspection covers?

Oh, the rear arches arn’t my thing, not keen on the rear diffuser either and as for the front wings…look ok from the front but dont like the rear edge detail, its a shame thy couldnt have been finished of like the one off sport model, where they mimic the trailing endge of the front wing but just spaced off, but i suppose your limited when they are a bolt on item.*

Sorry, Not keen on that i am afraid.

If i was to do visual mods to the bodywork, i would base it more on the GT3 Exige or better still the One off V6 Exige sport.

Sorry, really don’t like it

The rear arches are ok I suppose, but the front ones just don’t suit the car at all. The Exige has a very strong design based on the interplay of soft curves and sharp edges, but the hole in the front arches seems to be all smooth curves. It might look better if the hole was slimmer, and ran right down to the bottom.

They dont seem terribly fond of it over on Pistonheads either…

I like the colour, but the bodywork is too (German) DTM for my liking

Tim.

Is the track wider than normal?

I think both wheelarch extensions might look better if the edges were blended in to the body and there are not such a clear edge that makes it look, especially in the last frontal picture , as if they are just stuck on.

To balance the massive arches and rear diffuser the rear wing and front splitter will have to be MASSIVE.

It would end up looking like a Peugoet 205T16 in full works trim…

And there aren’t many Exiges with 600BHP

It just isn’t coherent with the original lines of the car, sometimes (mainly slab sided eurboxes) cars can carry off big arches - I love the old Zender Gold Mk Is, but a curvy base vehicle wont take it, you’ve got to start from scratch like the Exige Sport or the Esthi.

i just feel sick looking at it

makes a S2 look good

aesthetically awful! but what does it do for performance? thats the primary key for me? I could live with the rear arches if it makes me go quicker!

Dogs Dinner.

I am guessing spacers were used to widen the cars track. If so this will be putting greater forces through the suspension arms eg toe links. I would be worried about something giving way…

now that’s a good looking car…

I can’t see the blasted things as the (invisible) images carry the slogan Bandwidth exceeded. Help!

Sorry Junks don’t like it. Far too Max Power.

Not my thing but I think it’s pretty good as a Max Power Lotus, probably even more so with wild spoilers.

junks I’m not sure you have the right audience to approve of this here.

Ian

To be honest I didn’t expect it to be everyones thing but just for some info:

The rear arches are used on Gavan Kershaws Cadena Exige so do provide function, the rear diffuser was made for Cadena so only a temporary one & will probably use the standard.

The kit will be available with all sections seperately & the rear wing is a wider C/F version of the original but clam mounted

Junks,

I’d just like to say that although my comments were pretty negative, I’m saddened by some of the response I’ve seen on other sites. There’s simply no reason for anybody to resort to personal attacks.

I think the rear arches look great on the racers, and they will probably look good on yours with a slightly more subtle diffuser. I’d be interested to see a diffuser just like that, but shorter and slightly better made. That one looks a bit uneven, but that’s fine as it was made for racing.

Is there any indication that the front arches will provide any performance benefit? Does the car need wider front wheels for racing?
Maybe a slimmer extension for the front would work better aesthetically? I’d like to see it without the pointy bit running back to the door aperture, and with a narrower vent running right down to sill level.

I think it’s great that somebody’s doing something like this even if it’s not to everybody’s taste.

I think if the rear of the front arches were sorted, and you could find a proper rear wing, and paint it a motorsport colour (to match the motorsport arches, rather than max power colours) then I think it’d look well.

How about white, that’s very much of the moment.
