Ooof!! Tough crowd on here!!
Lol quite the opposite, I promise
Time has been in short supply just recently with one thing and another, That’s life i suppose.
Anyway had the Ohlins on and off for tweaks and adjustments to make the fit on the 111R chassis as good as i can make it
Russell at MGR has been fantastic with answering my million and one questions and changing the dampers more than once!! Never has he once not being willing to help. He even lent me some end eyes and the tools to change them with so i could get the damper lengths absolutely stop on.
So they are now on the car and the wiring has been fitted, I just had to switch the ECU ‘ON’ so i could see what i had bought.
Hope you like these piccies, I do!!!
Will update with more pictures once the install is complete, Just need to make a nice bracket so i can see and reach the screen from the drivers seat
26r?
Perfect for a supercharged k20??
All looking v good
Well I’ll be Dave, I forgot about the Elan
Not a chance in hell for a Honda. Will spend 10 X the cost of one on an all steel twin cam.
If it’s worth doing and all that.
Honda engines are great, but they have there places.
yeah, in a honda!! lol
Finally managed a few more hours of tinkering with the Elise.
Needed somewhere safe and visible for the damper control screen so made this, needs painting etc but wanted to make sure it fits and is WELL clear of my legs before doing so
Ah wow, that brilliant!
Another part of the project is the charge cooler system.
As i will be using the 17.5 MY front clam i will have nice bog openings either side of the main rad air inlet, so I have replaced the oil coolers with a large laminova cooler.
I then had pro-alloy modify two new oil cooler rads to accept water pipes
These sit nicely behind the two big inlets so ‘should’ get plenty of nice cold air to keep inlet temps in check
Time will tell
Just caught up with this from the start, what an ace build - looking forward to more progress!
To be fair so am I but time and funds are in short supply currently!!!
Trying to have a real push between now and new year
The car needs the following and it will drive …
Connect gear change and hand brake cables
Tidy/cable tie the damper control wiring
Fill and bleed cooling system
pipe up the charge cooler, install pump , fill and bleed
bolt in a driver seat
It can then move under its own power
I now have 99.9% of the parts needed to finish it
I am awaiting a subframe mounting for the spoiler uprights to arrive from Lotus
Then i need to buy a rear spoiler blade
Have the rear clam painted (needs some holes making for spolier pylons but need the mounting to get them in the correct place)
Have front splitter painted
Have front access panel painted, I really want a carbon access panel but at over £2000 from lotus a painted one will suffice for now
Just really need to get my finger out or get John to use up some of his holidays…John you there???
Very nice Dave.
No doubt you will be making use of your Black Friday offer
Top job, Dave. Keep us posted👍
Why do the tiniest of jobs alwaye take a massive amount of time?
Took me 3 hours today to install the fuel tank cell closing panel. So that i could connect the hand brake cable.
Who ever removed/refitted it the past fitted lots of the bolts the wrong way round, Ionly discovered this once it was all fited, so had to remove themALL and start again, aaaaarrrrggggghhhhh
All done now
At least you know its done right!
Hahaha
Not sure about that!!!
