Who’s selling them in the UK?

Well after a wait that has seemed like forever, I pick up my drive shafts on Wednesday of this week. What a bloody nightmare they have been, with a couple of companies saying that they could deliver only to find out a week later that they couldn’t, then having to start all over again with someone else.
We have spent the last three weeks going over the car with a fine touth comb making sure all of the little things are right. There will still be a fair amount of work to do after some initial testing I reckon as things fall off or brake or whatever. For example I am going to change the ally bulkhead as mine is kind of like a culinder now, it has that many different holes in it. I am going to wait until I am happy that everything works as it should, before I strip it all down as I obvioulsy only want to drill the holes I need in the new one.
We have constructed a whole new gear linkage, which was quite a bit of work to get right, but I have to say it is bloody awesome now. We have taken the whole gear lever assembly from an Audi A3, so the self centering is as it would be in an A3, the reverse lockout is as it would be in an A3 and the super slick gate is as it would be in an A3. I don’t wish to brag (honest ;o) ) but this is the nicest, slickest gear change in any Lotus that I have ever had the privilige of twiddling the lever, standard or converted cars!!
I’ve had some cool ally brackets made up to hold my damper remote canisters to my roll bar rear stays as I was sick of bloody cable ties.
We have done some super top secret mods to the throttle body that we are using, that should help with throttle response both on and off boost.
I have also changed the turbine and exhaust wheels in the turbo to a different spec than the standard VF34, and the turbo body itslef has been machined, all to aid spool up and stuff.
I sooooooooooooo cant wait to drive the bloody thing. lol
Sean…

No… You don’t want to do that Sean, you will only frighten yourself
Let me know if you want any help fine tuning the boost response on the Audi, I’ve done a few
Cheers

What no pics???
You have kids, a girlfriend and a job - so I just don’t know where you find all the time to do this, but it makes great reading so keep it up…but I do like a few pics as well (did I mention that?)
Would be very interested in your roll bar brackets as I have just been through a long wait for a set myself.
Job - ha!
Job - ha!

All the work my arse, you cheeky sod!! Where was ya last night when I was finishing the wiring off!!
Stocking up on cheap booze, thats where you was
Had a good day today!!!
Wayne and I set about fitting the three piece back end. We had eye’d it up in the week and we were both absolutly dreading trying to get it to fit.
But 5 hours later and its all on and looks really good. I have been meaning to take a few pics for a while, but I can’t find my bloody camera.
Have spent a few evenings last week doing all those little jobs, that never ever seem to end. Mind you we have changed quite a few little things since the first picture of the engine being in, which has ment remaking lots of little brackets and stuff, all of which seems to take forever.
Still got to fit the lights to both clams and then get it painted. We can’t decide what colour to paint it though.

Nice one Sean, did you plum for ‘Alfa’ red in the end or is that another shade of red?
That looks fab & lookin forward to seeing it in action next year
Alfa Red matey!! Awesome colour, I really really like it!!!
I drove the car for the first time yesterday as well. I obviously still have the boost issues, so I put the rev limiter at 5,800RPM (which equates to 298bhp and 262lbft according to my graph) The car is really really great. It’s super nice to drive normally on the road, I actually had a conversation with my passanger for the first time in two years. lol. I guess I don’t have to say what it goes like when you put your foot down, but it wheel spins in every gear. lol
My new exhaust manifold, turbo, external wastegate and other bits and bobs are now in transit from the US, so I should have them for when I get back from Skiing next week.
Sean…
what did you go for in the end sean?
Did you get the Tial waste gate?
Paint looks good…
I particularly like the arty plan shot out of the bog window!!
