Moving over to the Dark side!

I was just wondering if any past S1 owners have gone over to the DARK side and bought an S2 and why?

To explore their feminine side?

They’d run out of credit on their AA cards.

LOL, when I had my Range Rover I was on first name terms with the AA men!

PMSL… superb

ha ha, class mate.

I did…both S1 and S2 was superb. S2 just a better everyday car, and I use it everyday. I have not regretted it…Bertone, you’re thinking about that Green S2 aren’t you you little tinker

ditto, altho I had an S1 elise, not exige

A chap in our local club www.nyloc.org has just committed this Heinous act. Not spoke with him yet, just seen his post saying it was comfy!

I think the Audi/Honda conversions make a good case for keeping an S1 rather than splashing out on an S2 (which seem to lose money like it’s going out of fashion)

S1 all the way ! Unless you’re having problems hitching your skirt over the sill…

I made the change, and I’m really happy. I guess that’s mostly because I do a lot of relatively short road journeys.

Funnily enough, the only thing I really miss about the S1 is the K series engine. The Toyota is very nice, but it’s totally characterless below 6000rpm. The K series may be a ropey old thing, but the noise, the rough idle, the coughing and farting always made for a real sense of occasion.

Just take Pesky along for a ride if you need that.

Sounds like the reasons why I ditched my last girlfriend!!!

Ah - those Northern lasses!

LOL!

Haven’t you found a solution for that yet?

Doesn’t a car with the looks of the Exige deserve an engine that makes it a real sense of occasion every time you get in it?

As someone who lusted after the S1 but didn’t have the cash at the time, I do find the longevity of the Toyota lump in my S2 pretty reasuring, characterless or otherwise.

It certainly does. I’m thinking maybe an induction kit would help a bit as the main problem is that the noise is rather bland. Or maybe a supercharger is the answer

On the other hand, the S2 does everything else a bit better than the S1. For me, that is. It’s a personal thing and I can fully understand why many people would prefer the S1. If I could afford it, I would have an S1 for track use and the S2 for the road.
