Anyone use one??? i was looking at getting the Eliseparts bar with the adjustable drop links are they worth the money.
The car is a S/C Honda, it has Nitrons/Eibachs etc etc and is used on track/road.

Hi !
I don’t know for kit two, but two years ago, when I’ve bought the eliseparts kit 2, it was impossible to adjust it to the stiffiest setting.
Not so helpful, I know…
Sorry what kit did you have??? the one with the slide adjustable drop links (kit 2) or the bolt through the rollbar one (kit 1).
Did the bar make the car better on track.
I use the Plans Motorsport uprated adjustable ARB. Very good indeed!!!
Is that much stiffer than the standard Exige one Sean ?
Thanks Sean, i just looked on the Plans site and there bar uses the std drop links is that the same as you have???
I wanted to use the slider links as i think they will be easier to adjust when needed at the track.
And like Dave says how much stiffer is the Plans bar.
As far as how much stiffer the plans bar is, basically if you had another 6 holes going stiffer than the standard exige bar, that would be it. So it is a nice progression on from the standard bar.
It is the same diameter as the satndard bar, so uses the standard mounts and drop links.
Mmm… expensive ?
I’ve also got the plans motorsport bar, and I’m very happy with it. I tried their fast road/track day adjustable bar first but it still wasn’t stiff enough, but the motorsport bar is spot on.
Just rang Plans, the bar they recommended was the full motorsport bar (made from T45) and is 211 + vat + 16 p&p
Think I will go for one of these
If race pedigree is anything to go for, then i believe Randy at Hofmanns has one for sale also…
Randy’s is too stiff. His words not mine. He said he had put a very stiff bar on just to see how stiff was too stiff and he reckons the one he has on is too stiff.
I know it’s dependent on a few things but what you have yours set to Sean and do you change the settings at all.
It is the same diameter as the standard bar, so uses the standard mounts and drop links.
How is that possible unless it’s a solid bar? Which means it’s heavy.
Mark, Graham said they do 2 bars first one is 8 gage T45 and this must be there track day bar which isn’t much of an upgrade and the second is a 10 gage T45 bar.
Personally, I don’t know what’s wrong the bar Lotus fit - middle setting for me, proper geo & job done.
Perhaps if I were a Racing God, then any lack of pace would be down to the car, not me
I was getting to much body roll (for my liking) last time I used it and also as I went through the 2nd chicane at Combe it was lifting the rear wheel a tad (you can hear it in this video)
May be Im going the wrong way about it with the roll bar but I thought it might help.
Any other help would be good if Im going in the wrong direction here.
Don’t worry Graham, I was taking the mick out of meself, not you
Don’t know what springs/dampers you’re running, but if you’re on Nitrons a set of stiffer springs may not go amiss eg 450f, 550r - perhaps even more - depends whether you mind your dentures rattling about when driving on the road
Sorry what kit did you have??? the one with the slide adjustable drop links (kit 2) or the bolt through the rollbar one (kit 1).
Did the bar make the car better on track.
About 2 years ago, when I bought the bar, there were 3 options for the arb. I bought the stiffest, but without the option for the slider drop links…
The car was faster on track than with the oem arb; the problem is that now I have a very planted car for added conrnering but very oversteery… maybe I’ve to change the geo settings (I have the 340r settings, 100mm f and 110mm r, rebuilt Nitron 1 way for 400lb front springs and 475 rear springs).
In fact, I’ve done not too many track days with the Nitrons, maybe I don’t know the suggested settings for me…
Thanks Riccardo.
LOL thats ok Rob, im running 425f 500r Eibcah’s at the mo with 340r track geo + std ride hight (step drive to get up )
Dont want to go much more on the spring rates as i do use it on the road, it would drive me nuts driving to the Ring on 600-700lbs springs .
Oh and Martin sent me some pics of the wing supports so you might be getting a PM soon
