I am going to register interest and try to get a drive, won’t be buying at 55k though
Gota say I’m a fan - ok the rear is challenged, but nothing that can’t be resolved before launch if needed, and I bet there’s something under it that needed packaging.
If its anything like an Evora under the skin, after seeing one underessed yesterday, then quality of parts is way up even on 2010 Exiges.
Roof scoop on the rally version doing nothing? Think that theres no A/C and thats the cabin venting sorted. No roof scoop on the road car, easily resolvable!!
Bland performance? At least wait until its been tested before comment??? Even the press release says not official at the moment. I remember the same comments about the S2 Elise and Exige when launched, and they sold pretty well for a Lotus. Not everyone is after a 500hp, light weight, nutter machine that you’re too scared to drive.
Sounds like you’ve chosen your new company car, John. I’m quite envious!
Hmmmm, sell workshop, buy Lotus!! There’s a tester!!
Yep been following quietly reading everyones opinion, but I like it, very sleek . I can take or leave the roof scoop and the back of the car has real presence, in fact Id say it looks as angry/cool as the front and having mirrors sticking out that far means for a very wide arse…babys got back . My only criticism is that Id prefer a body colour side scoop, the new mesh design on the white paint looks excellent and I think the black scoops are not in keeping. Its in my price range too…
Can someone Photo Shop the side scoops please…in red and in white?

That was the most boring build up to a (near) crescendo that I can ever remember. I hope they run their business a bit more dynamically than their car launches! Even Jake sounded ‘flat’. I do like it though. I think the S1 was always crying out for a V-6.
Yes it was a bit shite , the Evora GTE looks nice though .
Evora GTE is something else, wish I had the money
The exige is growing on me slowly, I don’t think the colour helps and will reserve judgement till I see one in the flesh.
It’s not for me though, I would rather spend the money on a nice evora
I hear the V6 is 0-60 in 3.8 and 170mph , 10 inches longer with an Evora rear chassis and the old Exige front chassis together and has some sort of active suspension .
I doubt the kept the old front end since it has the new bigger brakes and 5 bolt wheels. Why would they ?
Not sure , I thought it was just an Evora engine bolted on an S2 chassis .
Easy enough to make them 5 bolt pattern, same as Europe/VX220/higher powered Astra’s, then calipers are just a bracket away from fitting. Admitedly, rear handbrake shoes from Evora may be a bit more challenging.
Arnt the front wishbone mounts part of the tub anyway? Would be very difficult/expansive to change that bit I should think.
It does have a wider track but I was guessing that would be different wishbones or something?
I am guessing its just a new (longer) rear subframe for the engine.
I still think they should of been able to get below 1080kgs with some better materials.
