This was a cracking day last year… Why not pop along…
MLOC@Chatsworth2013 21st July (now with pics!)
MLOC (Midlands Lotus Owners Club) are organising an event culminating at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire on Sunday 21st July, and would like to invite any SELOCers that might fancy it along.
If you do fancy it, go on to the MLOC site (midlandslotus.co.uk), join up (it’s free) and find the thread in the events section. The very first post has a link to the RSVP thingy.
The event begins with a 7.30 start near Matlock and an hour’s run on some of the best and most scenic roads in the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District. Then a breakfast stop at Hassop Station cafe near Bakewell, then another hour’s run with some even more spectacular views. Finally, we have an allocated space to park at Chatsworth House for the rest of the day, and will have a catered picnic at 1 o’clock.
There will be a raffle and a car of the day competition.
This will be the second running of the event. I think we had 57 cars last year, and it was a great success. If you search on the MLOC site there are pictures and comments to give you more of an idea.
People that aren’t bothered about the run are welcome just to come along to Chatsworth - either way I would ask everyone to pay in advance through the on-line MLOC store. The parking fee at Chatsworth is a fiver, if you would like the catered picnic it’s £8 pp, and there is a £1 fee to cover postage and printing costs as we will be sending out packs with run routes, maps and other bits and bobs to all attendees.
For those of you further afield, it would be worthwhile travelling to Derbyshire on the Saturday and making a weekend out of it. There is lots to see and do.
If anyone has any questions post them please (or PM me) and I will do my best to answer them.
Thankyou ladies and gents. Hope to see some of you in July!
