MESC Brands 1st May

We are race 7 & endurance race 9.

4 Exiges entered in time, but I am sure more will arrive on the day. A certain Mr Maddog is missing from the list…

Thanks Russ.

Do you have a guess at what time race 7 will start? What time is quali?

I am planning on bringing my little guy (he’s 4.5) to his first race meet. It’s a bit of a gamble, because whilst he REALLY loves cars and is a lovely chap, he also has a few development problems and noise can sometimes be an issue to him (won’t be coming in the Exige). So if you see me only fleetingly this may be reason. Loves Exiges though, once licked mine out of excitement!

You never know, he might even help out!

Thats great, a certain future Lotus owner then

I’m working hard on a Great Nephew & hoping for the same result

Tim.

Ian

It will be great to see you & the little fella at Brands Do you think he will take a shine to Veronique, cos we’ll have to make sure she’s on her best behaviour (& suitably attired!!!)

The Endurance is always the last race of the day, normally scheduled for a 5pm start. So working backwards, Race 7 should be starting sometime between 3.30 & 4pm - it’s going to be a fairly hectic last couple of hours for the VVR Team

I’m not quite sure what he’ll make of Veronique! But please tell her not to make any special effort, he’ll take as it comes (like his father).

Might need to get off prior to the endurance race, we’ll see how it goes.

Ian

Yey ! Someone of my generation to talk to

So how many of you lot are coming to Brands then ?

I’ll see how I get on this week, lets just say 2006 hasn’t been a great year so far will definately be at donny and Snetterton but don’t want to arrive at Brands and not be prepared.

LOL! Sorry David, talking would be his main problem.

He makes a great engine sounds though! Mixed with a bit of sign language.

Ian

I should be there spectating (in the box ).
Probably with my 7 year old lad in tow.

Tap and I will be there, we are doing the photography for the series again this year. Looking forward to next weekend,…shame my car won’t be on the road but it will be worth it when I get it back .

Mark is that the LoT box? Is there a list to get in? Or details of where?

Cheers, Ian

I’ll be there, if I don’t smash it to bits on Wednesday or Saturday.

looks like its going to be a wet race by the looks of the weather report

Just got back after a great day at Brands. Good to see a few of the regulars in the VVR pits (well Sean’s garage) and SeanB’s car looks very good in the flesh.

Shame the grid only had 9 cars on it, really gutted for Sean who was catching the Noble for a podium before getting baulked and then having what looked like a terminal engine problem.

Mind you the Invitation endurance race got a bit ‘interesting’, I’m sure Simon S is relieved that Russ managed to avoid the melay.

A few pictures that Paul took from the L-o-T box.

After the 340R speared it’s way across the grid after getting very sideways the enevitable contact happened.

Tough break there for Sean. I hope his new engine is ready to go in. iirc he was wondering how much life there was left in that vhpd.

Nice driving though.

Awww, that looked like a blast, I wish I could have been there ,

Unfortunately a badly timed geog field trip combined with like 2 weeks until exams meant that I had to do the responsible thing and stay home and study .

Lets just hope that missing out on all the fun pays off

David

Gutted for you Sean

Nice move there Russ, but crikey, how quick did that 360CS launch? He seems to just fly past everyone from looking at the pictures!

Fantastic day out!!! 1st race in a way that ive been to,always been track days etc etc,and the whole enviroment is ALOT different… Sean was buzzin like a FRIDGE when he got off,but after having a good look at the car,we still dont 100% know what the failure was?!

Im sure he will have it in bits when he gets in tonight, and he will post up the damage (if any,as it was still running when he turned it off)

Pete…

excellent photo report journo Anderson

What a buzz eh Sean… sorry to hear the car let you down a wee bit, next time tho’ we know you will fixit.

RussT(y) excellent result, and in a car that’s not your own - maybe that’s a good thing

looking forward to the rest of this years exploits with our resident racers…

excellent photo report journo Anderson

You need to thank Mr Golding for the pictures trying out his new camera.

There was a load of smoke out the back of seans car just as he entered Paddock Hill. Shame as we were all willing him on to get past the Noble.
