NEW Chassis?
I like the optional extra of Driver Training. Hopefully not by the guy who crashed it at Spa
NEW Chassis?
The Circuit car chassis is actually the original high side mk1 chassis. Its not new of course but you know Lotus. They delete lumbar support on the latest seats, make up a name(probax) and sell a seat with less adjustment as the best thing since sliced bread
I guess the chassis is slightly unique in that it combines the high sills of the S1 with the modified rear end to accept the Toyota lump.
Good point. Fair enough then.
So that’s the S2 subframe, the one that’s a little “flexible” shall we say
it is not a looker is it! Give me a 340R any day over that, It has a big square arse

so if you could get the modded rear end as a spare part, you could get a Yota lump in an S1?
Is the wheelbase the same? Otherwise the clam of a S1 wouldn’t work.
But why? A Honda is a better engine.

I personally think the track car works really well as a package especially the looks which are the best bit. It really looks like a focused no compromise track car - exactly what it says on the tin… It’s just a pity about the price !!!
If only it could have been in the 20-25K bracket i think they would have had a winner…
I agree with Pegbox. I think it looks stunning, though the roll cage ain’t pretty. Maybe something like the 340R’s roll over hoops would be a nice option for those who are not actually racing. It looks more of a pukka track car than the 340R, which I love (considered buying a used one a few years ago), but which does look a bit too “Flash Gordon” to be taken seriously
What’s the basic price for the non-supercharged version?
I really like it aswell but at 40k they can go spin dat gonk!!
With it being a track car and not registered for road use I would imagine the the s/h prices will tubble quite quickly. Something to look out for in 18 months time then…
I think the fact that it will have a SCCA compliant rollcage shows that thy plan to sell it in the US as well as europe.
If I win the lottery this weekend I’ll buy one and race it in the LoT series next year
What would it have to weigh?
They have not released it in the US yet, but how is it that Lotus strips everything off of a car, and charges more for it?
