LOT - DTM @ Brands

Firstly, good luck to our regulars Russ, Tarmac Terrorist & Evosal for the 2 races this weekend.

Secondly, just heard that only 1 sec seperates the first seven grid positions (fastest 52.4)

Superb performance by Evosal

Russ did 10 laps - first 3 slowly to make sure of qually, next a drive thro the pits to make sure everything cool, then a few quickies.

Apparently the DTM beasties are about 10 secs a lap quicker still

AWESOME. I’m still waiting for the Oulton round to be hosted up online, it’s the closest I’ll get to any Elise on-track action for a while

Technically speaking, isn’t brands hatch closer?

interesting to see Randy pegged back after his domination at oulton, any ideas if anyone was having problems or is it just down to track knowledge - i know a few of them had not been to Oulton previously?

Can anyone get hole of tickets for me?

Its first showing on TV is tonight (Motors TV @ 8pm for UK peeps). No doubt, it be will hosted thereafter, once the TV co give the okay. However, the guys who will deal with the TV co in that respect, are all at Brands this weekend, with plenty of other things to think about

Good day at Brands today. Randy had a slight issue of the handbrake locking on which didn’t help and Walshy has a slight misfire.

Startline incident between Steve Williams, Simon Scuffham & Andrew Walsh ended up including David Skeggs when he t-boned Steves car. Dave & Steve are out of the race tomorrow.

Russ retired.

Congrats to Evosal, nice to see him finally up there .

Any news as to why Russ retired.

David

Nope, only that he did about 7 laps.

Any news as to why Russ retired.

Wanted to use HIS bus pass

Sounds like a great day and some great racing. Too short notice to get the DTM machine to organise media passes for me and Tap so alas we won’t be there I had family commitments up in Warks so I could not even attend as a spectator

Good luck to everyone!

Apparently David may be on the grid tomorrow and Steve’s car is driveable, se he might be there too. Never underestimate the ingenuity of those two.

Sorry to hear about the accident and Russ retiring. Maddog was hampered with electrical problems and only got a few laps in.

Just a warning to spectators going tomorrow, they will not let you into where the LOT marquee is located without a Paddock Pass.
I was stopped from entering by some officious female steward, spoilt the day.

David.

The whole event is owned and paid for by the DTM and for some reason this year they have closed the paddock to anyone without a paddock pass, and I believe they have even reduced the number of these available. The do cost 12, which includes a pitlane walk in the morning. A bit much if you have already paid the entrance fee I know.

Any news as to why Russ retired.

Just spoken to Russ, apparently it was 'charger belt failure again. When it failed it took some of the wiring with it, including the all important crank sensor.

All set to go again now, hopefully with the belt problemn resolved.

Here is a video of the start from Scuffers’s car - looks like Mr Williams tried to take Mr Walsh out:
