Le Mans Classic 24hrs - July

Any one else heading down this year? Remember it only comes around every 2 years… for those that haven’t been it’s a lot more laid back than the main 24hr (less crush)

Just bought my tickets from Brian at 1st Tickets - quite reasonable…

Down side is that I may not have the S1 by then …

You’re surely not selling up?

Possibly, another play thing arriving later in the year…

Not a William Tell, or a pair of ladders I hope

Plump for the GT40 replica?

Ian

Nope though do have a soft spot for the 40’s, its Austrian by birth, it’s like marmite you either love it or hate it, and before any one asks yes it does have 4 wheels…

Any way any one heading to the classic?

A bloody William Tell

Yep, a few of us are off to the Classic - al;l we’ve done so far is book the outward ferry - Tues 8th from Portsmouth to Caen @ 23.45pm

No not a pair of ladders - it doesnt do it for me, but it is almost as equally unpractical, the exige is luxurious by comparison, you could be on right lines …

Definately a William Tell (as opposed to a Robin Hood method)

1st time for me. Dover/Boulogne, Speedferries, Thursday, 10th.

Yup, I’m going for the first time too. Quite a few going from NYLOC, but all seem to have different routes.
I am planning to drive down UK on the Thursday, take Speedferries at 6pm, overnight near Boulogne, and have a leisurely drive thru France on the Friday

I’m planning to over night in London on Wednesday with my son. Then head for Dover Thursy am for 10am(Ithink) sailing. Drive stright from there to digs( arranged via Nyloc). Problem might be return on Monday which, it turns out, is Bastille Day, something I’d not considered.

You’ll be lucky, mate

Je ne comprends pas

I doubt (although I hope I’m wrong), that the drive down will be leisurely, as I would expect the roads to be very busy on the Friday. IIRC it’s about 4 hours at the best of times.

My first time too. Booked tickets (with 1st tickets) and camping at Kart Nord. Popping over on the first Speedferries cat on the Friday, and having as much fun as I can get away with on the way down.

See y’all there.

about 6 cars in our group going from 'ull.

My Elan, Mk2 Grp4 Escort with Duratec if it’s ready, Another Elan if he buys one in time, 2 Healey 3000’s and a Z3

Meals and beers on the ferry is part of the 'oliday… we have convinced ourselves

Im definitely up for this but as of yet havent booked anyhting. Better pull my finger out I suppose.

Havn’t missed one yet, hope traffic will be light for me and my son, will be coming up from central France.Hoping its as good as 2006 it’l be difficult, dont think there will be so many GT40’s this year!Nice little private campsite just off the Mulsanne straight

I’ll be there too! First year for me so very glad i’ll have the S2 by then!

Does Lotus run any kind of event there does anyone know? Parking in the circuit etc?
