lap at Donnington on the 17th you tube vid

NA Exige, Turns out my pressuse were to low, after testing the temps on my in lap the centres were cooler than the two edges doh. must do craners faster as you talk to people and they say you can do it flat out, question is what speed is flat out  anyway posted a 126.7 lap, must try harder

Great day in the end after a very slow start my me.

“Flat out down Craners” - must be one of the most hotly debated topics on car forums

Anything over 100mph down that section is not exactly slow, however I usually have more to do than glancing at the speedo - must learn how to multitask

Looked like a tidy lap, David, & not a CSL in sight

Very nice, thanks for sharing! Is that with the Motosport ECU update? Looks nice!

Cheers Phil

yes makes the car much better all round road and track

Hmmm, you’re actually making me want to keep my car
Nice vid

why ?, what are you selling for ?

Craner’s is my favourite set of corners, the only way to do it is flat out, I’ve seen over 120mph down craner

your head tells you to take your foot off the accelerator but just keep it planted all the way down

there’s a video on here of me going backwards down craner

why ?, what are you selling for ?

Too much Honda super charged talk…
My wife would kill me if I changed my car again

found it

thats why I eased off lol.

Honda S/C cars are great but it gives you nothing to chase down on track days. I like nother better than Exige S baiting lol, nothing to lose every thing to win.

And you have to spend good money to get it sorted right imo.

its a tough call to buy a 12k 5 year old car and then spend double what the cars worth on it.

Great to meet you DrD… Your car looked great in all black!!

I had a few issues with tyres that were past their best from too many heat cycles over the last 3 track days and Donnington was it’s usual slippy slide self (noise regs as a jet roars overhead dumping fuel all over the track!! I’ll never understand that).

Anyway having had a look at my data logging from the driftbox, best lap was 1’22.8 and highest speed through craner was 119.2 mph before getting on the brakes. Glad I switched to the RS15’s for the day, the 14’s wouldn’t have lasted!

Anyone know what times any of the S1 Honda’s were managing? I know I was lapping at the same rate as Walshy in the Camel S1.

Nice one matey, looks ace fun

Dont know times but mckean took me out in mine and we lapped faster than walshy on his own in his.

That guy drives like a nutjob, proper good stuff

I know the Camel S1 was faster than me my miles on times

but it was not that fast on the straights i thought.

Love the look of the plans wing btw,
My car goes in the wind tunnel on a full test soon so on the out come of that I will look into wings and splitters.
will post results if I am allowed to.

I was doing dead on a ton down craner but some cars I followed twitched very bad so it put me off going any faster due to that.

Craner is all about being smooth in and not changing the position of the wheel or you feet until you the point you can get everything straight for braking but not leave it too late otherwise the drop in the track will mess up the braking…

At 118.3mph my car was pulling 1.19 lateral G, so if it did let go, it would go a long way across the grass!

Did love seeing how quick you peddled your car though… you showed up some percieved quick cars out there!

You do have a bee in your bonnet about the Exige S don’t you…Compliment on the driving though, looked very smooth and un-hurried

I love the S dont get me wrong and I hated the standard Exige.

I test drove the Exige when it came out and hated the power.
I test drove the S when it came out and loved it on my test drive.

So when i brought one I was looking at a 240R but could not find one.
it just so happens the motorsport ECU came out and imo made the NA a much better car than it was.

If it was a road car only i would buy an S every time.
But as a track car you have to put money into an S and as they were 32k when I was looking to buy a 2nd hand 240R would have been better for me.

its all down to cash flow and I had 30k to spend so Do i buy a standard S and find 2k more or buy a NA with ECU, Brakes and suspension.

I choose the latter its as easy as that.
if you spend on an S what I spent on my NA it will be a better faster car.

Ah. Seems your using Track-Day Excuses Bible Page 42 Section 9 sub paragraph 4. Havent seen that one used for a while

Fair enough. I do agree (as i have already said) that with a low 30 grand budget you could probably get an NA exige to go round a track quicker than a std S. Simply because you can get a NA exige for 10 grand less than a std S. 10 grand spent on a NA exige will make it quite a lot quicker.
