I am new around here. I have just sold my VX220 Turbo and I think I now want an Exige S2.
I would love a Krypton Green one but they seem really rare? Did they make any NA Krypton Green Exiges? The ones I seem to find are all Exige S’s. Also maybe a white one? I wan’t something quite loud haha, not interested in the greys or bland blues.
Has anybody done the same and gone from VX Turbo to Exige? I liked the VX, it had been remapped and a few other bits and bobs so it was quite nippy but it felt a bit unbalanced on track, that is why I am now looking at Exiges as it appears they are similar cars with the exige being a lot more track orientated.
Do the heaters work in the Exige? They were useless in the VX! What about aircon, worthwhile extra or not worth bothering with? I can see it getting damn hot in the cabin with the roof on.
The VX is quicker in a straight line but the suspension is nowhere near as good. The Exige rides bumps so much better - my back used to start hurting after about 30mins in the vx. I don’t know how much that is due to my lightweight wheels aswell. Grip level is quite a bit higher, just checkout the topgear laptimes. He and I really loved the vx at the time but since I’ve got the exige we realise the vx was a bit unruly, the exige is a lot more refined. I can imagine that for what you want it for, you would be very happy.
The heater works great, and the air-con. I would think it’s almost esential really. It only weighs 15kg and is needed on motorways and even more importantly as a de-mister.

Had a VX N/A tried a tubby and hated the lardy-arse feeling. The Exige is balanced like a VX N/A, but with the grip it should always have had.
What about aircon? I can see it getting damn hot in the cabin with the roof on.
My Exige is a Cup, so no aircon driving with the window open helps, but I would get aircon if you can. The 111R/Exige S2 ventilation/heating is far better than the VX.
I am sure you will get a warm welcome from the 50% of Exigers who drive bland Blue and Grey Exiges. Do you think it’s bland that most people don’t take the roof off ? You could pi$$ off the other 50% then.
I didn’t say Grey was bland !
But I think you get my point. We all belong to this enthusiasts club and are all proud of our machines. We all work hard (most of us)to keep them in the manner they have become acustomed.
Then this newcomer comes along, who doesn’t even have an Exige, and says some of them are bland ! Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion but then there is of course diplomacy. One can say they like one colour more than another because it makes a statement or it’s my wifes dog’s favourite colour but I would not go onto a specialist forum and say a very popular colour looks bland.
Long live Blue !
All Exige colours are great it’s just some are greater than others ! Except maybe Pesky’s which is in a world of it’s own in greatness terms.
Exige77 - You seem to have taken my comments the wrong way. I am not slagging anybodys car off. I just don’t like the more subtle colours on the exige.
Bob - That’s nice, I wish you luck with that little project. I bet it looks amazing with the tiger stripes and pretty lights!
People get defensive about their choice of car and even colour, so it is best not to stir it by provoking a reaction and if you cause one, tread lightly unless you dont care about getting up peoples’ noses!
Anyway, let’s just say that KG can certainly brighten up the darkest day and that’s why you want one
hi back2scisab,
i think you have got a cheek coming on here and asking for advice and then dissing the colours and being plainly rude .
i dont think you will get much advice apart from buck up or get another vx.
change your tune.
Ditto. I don’t quite see the problem here. Someone thinks blue and greyish colours are bland - compared to “loud” colours, they ARE. The hostility here is somewhat disturbing and I’m sure no harm was ment with the original comment other than to express the wish for an Exige in a loud colour (Krypton Green).
I have a “bland” graphite-grey Exige and did not take offence.
Can we please move on now? Hitting on (new) members because of one single word out of a long and reasonable post really isn’t necessary.
Hi back2scisab, welcome. What a sensitive bunch we seem to have become.
Mines midnight blue and I’d be the first to admit that on a dull day it does look a bit flat. but when the suns out, or its under artifical light, it looks great and has real depth to the paint.
