How big is an Eaton M62 Blower in the Exige...

Hi, sorry for a late reply. The Exige S A/F graph in question is mine. It was fitted with decat, arqray and ITG development air induction kit fitted for a few weeks before dyno.

As you will see the first run was with ITG kit which obviously gives better airflow than the standard box filter and was seen to be very lean. On the same day the car was re fitted back to standard and the results given again which was slightly more power and less lean.

An issue was the fuel used was not entirely 98 and is going back to be tested next week to see a comparison.

I have fitted an elise parts MIL light eliminator to the lambda sensor and have contacted them to see how this upsets the sensor as apparantly A/F is feed back from this to the ECU which may be corrupted??? any advice on this appreciated as geary cannot give details on how this works? - it just does… It seems the ITG and standard airbox set up is being given exactly the same amount of fuel and follow the same path nearly exactly?? - taking into account bobs points on MAF this may be a red herring.

The next step then is to work on the fuel delivery with getting the ITG back on.

Just a word of warning about the induction kits on SC cars. This comes from my new friends in Switzerland and is why I went back to the standard item. The standard filter is a very safe bit of kit naturally Lotus plays it safe - the filter is very good at its job but you do loose some performance. I was warned that while on a n/a car a bit of fine dirt going through the non standard filters is ok but on the SC cars you have around 3 times the airflow going through the induction system. This magnified airflow plus a higher stress on the engine from FI you want to be with the standard filter and changing it regularly.
Just thought I would pass one what seems like good advice

Well some unofficial but reliable news from a specialized tunner I cannot mentions his name due to the fact that he is developing the products.
Pulley size at least the top one is the same in exige S and CUP.
Injectors have different Ohm, singnal I guess size, you must replace them.
ECM must be reflashed, with this you should get same HP as CUP approx 240HP.
The intake might be also a bit different…
Other interesting news, cutoff for the CUP 8,050 RPM for the S 8,350 RPM, strange at least for me, but this is done for reducing engine and crankshaft vibration in with higher HP.
Other suggested improvements, cams, valves and springs and strongly suggested but not mandatory lightweight crankshaft all this give you 265-270 HP.
I will see him during the week end and I will ask if a better intercooler is needed or how can you cool it down more efficiently the stock one.
In October he will have the dynocharts as well the prices.

According to my workship manual-s/c supplement the later cup cars have 4 “larger” injectors whereas the S has 4 “standard” injectors. I’ll quote the text verbatum when I get chance later on.

Both the 240R and early 240 Cup cars use an additional injector.

Regarding the manifold I’ll try an ask. I copied the VIN off an S in the showroom the other day so I should be able to get that…

Hey Bob by chance did you find any info on the intake manifold…Thanks Frank

I’ve asked the question - they’ll get back to me…

Its hard to say what the difference will be…its so short I doubt it will tune at all?

Errr, he’s got back to me

He reckons its part no A128E0012F and costs 87.40?

I dont believe him, at that price I’m tempted to order it and see what arrives?

I want to play around with an air to water intercooler idea. No need to reinvent the manifold if I can get it over the counter…Thanks again Frank please contact me at www.moremonkey.com I don’t know how to pm you here Thanks again

Price of each injector OK.
Tunner told me 120 to 140 Euros each… 500-600 Euros for injectors only. Painful but worth I guess

PS I do not remember if he told me + VAT?

dyno results

242bhp at 8600rpm 161 lb/ft torque 5800rpm

decatted, sports exhaust, standard air induction 98optimax

AF ratio spot on

Remind me what you have done to your s to get 240+

I WANT TOO

sports exhaust = more or less through pipe = LOUD AS F@CK

which one u got craig ??

hi mate,
i have both an arqray single tip and 2ubular ultra. The dyno results are with the arqray and decat (and using the elise parts MIL light eliminator)

To be honest i would suspect the similar results with either exhaust. The arqray is the mentalist mother f@cker exhaust on the planet (ask bob he heard it when i was hardly moving)cars move to the inside lane in a haste when i am way behind them. At cam cross it is beyond description. At the dyno centre today the world seems like it was going to cave in.

The ultra is quiter and much more refined and more subtle although still quite loud and way louder than a stage 2. i am glad i have both as a 30min job to swap between the 2. Sometimes the arqray is a bit too much even for me.

Craig,

You have a std Exige S and have only changed the exhaust and removed the cat? …and you have 242 hp, did i understand that correct, or did i miss something?

Also how did you get it to rev so high? I thought the limiter came in somewhere around 8500 depending on the gear and duration…

I want 242 hp from my S aswell

Bruh-La
You took the words right out of my mouth

I to want this from my S
Surly it cant be that easy

Glad i did nit fork out the extra 10k for that cup car

Yes thats all i have done… very good dyno company also…if you can live with it sounding like a spitfire plane on steriods then this is the upgrade for you.

Tally Ho

Chocks away im off to spend some cash

spend a bit more and eliminate the rear panel

I suppose it sounds ok considering 240 cars are getting an extra 25 hp with de cat, stage 2 and new manifold.

I will have to talk to the bloke at 2bular and see if he can do me an exhaust that flows as freely as the ultra but will keep the noise down without a cat.

crank up the speakers
