I plan to have them down by the gear stick and rely on the alarms. I’ll rig a LED on the binicle in front of the Stack with the external output from the SPAs and if it comes on I will come in to the pits and see what the maximums were.
No eyes off the road or cluttered dash with that approach.
I didn’t know whether to go for what you’ve got, or like Sean, one with Fuel Pressure and Volts. The Stack already has Water Temp, but no alarm. Decisions, decisions.
Yes I do get a half decent discount from SPA. I can’t lay my hands on an old invoice at the moment to state exact costs, leave it with me and I will come back with some prices.
FYI - the engine development program at BMW was always way ahead of the engines going in the cars, I think development didn’t get into the cars until 12-18 months after design (if I remember rightly).
So what parts do NME make for you? I know asked them to design/make you a crank but I understand you weren’t willing to pay the money for it.
sorry to high jack the thread chaps, but simon, what are your thoughts on a honda 2.4 (accord sourced) bottom end topped with a K20a jdm head? obviously with uprated internals too? That would be a fantastic 4
NO never that - there isn’t a honda worth the trouble at the moment thogh I will get a k20 stiip it for exact weight and dynamic analysis, you should try reading the King K tread again Randy, K - worlds best 4 - capiche???
simon
Where exactly have you put your brain? Every single car that has a K-series is renound for unreliability. The Elise, the Freelander, the MGF etc etc etc. You can write about how much you love the damned thing all day long but it won’t make it any good.
Anyway its only a bloody shopping trolley engine, just like the Honda, it just happens to be an unreliable one. If you’re going to fall in love with an engine I think you should pick something a bit more special like a flat-12 fezzer or a Cosworth DFV, there are plenty of good’uns to choose from…
