No problem
Any more requests or changes chaps? Its been almost 6 months since I took over this place.
Is it possible to replace the ‘phpBB’ at the top of the mobile site with an exiges logo?
I am testing a few things. Let me know if it looks ok?!
Looks great, you don’t mess about getting things done!
I best buy some merch to show my appreciation…
Top man, thanks.
All,
I have started doing an evaluation on nodebb
Its a free forum software that is more upto date than this and less clunky.
You can all hate away and take a peek at : https://community.nodebb.org/
Let me know any thoughts. Its not a forgone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination.
Other examples :
Like sports bike and my sensors.
I only have one real requirement, the button to “go to first unread post” on each thread, any forum that doesn’t do that for me becomes really irritating and I do not tend to access it much, for instance Seloc has a button to go to last post, then I have to scroll back to find where I was up to.
Appreciate the feedback Tommo.
Let me see what I can find in phpBB.
Also like my sensors. Sport bikes a bit dark for me.
If we aren’t feeling the need to change I won’t. I don’t want to do it for sakes change.
My rational is that I find phpBB quite a old feeling software. NobeBB feels fresh , and fast.
It’s entirely up to you guys what you want
I’m of the opinion, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Appreciate the work and upgrades you’ve done so far
Unless phpBB becomes unmanageable or has security holes, stick with it?
Happy to lend a hand on the tech side if you need anything, btw
Cheers
Dan.
It’s php based but not that vulnerable. Having said that a patch was released.
NodeBB is based in redis backend , and node.js.
Honestly not sure if it’s any more , or less secure.
On the offline version I have its miles faster than phpBB.
For me the phpBB looks really dated.
look is not much in my mind, I want it to do easy things, simply showing me the information I want is where it’s at for me
I’d welcome a change TBH. Be nice to run with the times and attract new users.
100% agree Ade. Access to our info quickly and efficiently is where it is at.
