My old car has 600 850 springs and still road the bumps very well indeed
And can deal with their shocking customer service
I heard back from cornering force today , they still do the roll bars but they come in at £850 .
That is for a 3 position rear bar with mounting brackets and adjustable drop links and bladed front roll bar with drop links , expensive but when you look at the pilbeam bar for over £500 you do get a lot for the money.
Because my car already has the valving and spring rates designed to work with these i’m tempted to bite the bullet and order them up, rather than trying a cheaper bar that may not work as a package.
Sounds like a plan!
Ordered
Looks to be a well thought out bit of kit with a lot of testing behind it , couple of weeks lead time so will get pics up when it arrives.
I had heard about these engines breathing heavy so thought i would be better to fit catch cans if I’m going to track it , went with Sector11 quick cans.
Look to be well thought out as far as separation but not overly impressed with the fit, I’m not sure if they are meant for NA cars as one of the hoses rubs on the intercooler mount bracket so will have to mod that a little.
Also don’t like the fact the drain plugs are just pushed into rubber grommets, would of rather them threaded in especially since they are close to the hot exhaust if they were to ever fall out.
Also fitted a removable wheel to make getting in and out a little easier.
Anti roll bars should be here this week.
The Radium cans are nice but I had to add a spacer under the fitting bolts to stop them fouling any pipework. Luckily the spacers on my son’s micro scooter wheels are perfect. The Radium’s need to be unscrewed to empty them which is a bit of a fiddle but I have found they can go a few track days between emptying sessions, in fact one never gets anything much in it.
I had the proalloy ones, still not perfect as mine didn’t have a sight glass, but that might have been sorted now
I have the Sector ones and they seem to do the job.
Gained another project / garage mate for the lotus , god knows what I’m going to do with it but 182’s are just a fun little car to drive.
Not be on here in ages!!!
WOW - fantastic to see my old car has gone to such a brilliant home.
Love the wheels, and definitely going about everything the right way. The original plan was to go with corner force blade arbs (fantastic bit of kit) and the Nitrons were indeed valved and spung accordingly - I will be fascinated how you get on with these, particularly as the spring rating are intentionally quite soft due to the way they work in conjunction with the ARB’s.
Anyway, top work!
Thanks Nik
Im on track with it tomorrow so will be good to see how it works before and after the roll bars which should hopefully be here next week.
Did my first tacky yesterday in this car
Was good fun but the car definitely needs the roll bars as the springs are a bit soft causing roll in the corners.
Rolly
Hard on the brakes at end of the straight chasing the GT3
Hi Niel, the car looks great! I’ll be interested to hear how you get on with the arb’s.
looks pretty mega
I have the pilbeam arb, and it did more than I thought it was going to, and in fact lets me get away with softer shocks n springs
I checked temps out on track was doing 15 min sessions
coolant 86’c
Oil max of 105 'c
gearbox oil 80’c
I was worried the single oil cooler in the back wouldn’t cope but at 105 max i think it will be ok.
That car looks the nuts.
I have the Pilbeam, from Dave. They actually seem to have welded this one correctly
Great to see it in action. Top marks!
Which track is that?
