I’ve had the pan on since 10/05 no leaks as log as you take your time with the install [wait for the sealent to cure]…
Apparently the best in situ gasket is HONDABOND from your local Honda dealership.
marc.
That’s what I used, just do it by the book and no leaks…
But what about all this cutting of bits etc.? Are there actually proper plans and fitting instructions with it?
David can you please find out if they are going to come with all the instructions needed for fitment please?
yes I will make sure I find out and get all the info before any are ordered.

Thanks very much, it will make me less nervous if there is a full set of instructions
OK its just a straight fit, you remove that plate altogether.
come on 3 or 4 more to go and I can get these things ordered.

Wouldn’t removing the baffling plate also remove most of the benefits??
thats a plate from the old system
The baffle plate helps scrape oil off the crank and prevent the oil mist in the lower sump from getting to the crank and causing drag. If you remove it you’ll lose a couple of ponies and the amount of aeration in the oil will increase which can cause big end bearings to seize.
Bob,
The standard sump is a poor design hence why a baffle plate is fitted beneath the two crank throws at the oil reservoir end to go some way to prevent aeration of the oil.
You do not need to fit the baffle plate if a Moroso oil pan is fitted as the inbuilt baffles restrict the movement of oil in the sump which prevents the crank throws coming into contact with the surface of the oil and also maintains oil supply to the suction of the oil pump.
Regards,
David.
OK need firm number going to try and get this off the ground.

i must admit i am having second thoughts after reading the elisetalk thread. I am not sure its that great…I would love to be convinced otherwise though, as my alternative is heavier and more expensive…an accusump.
A sump with baffels in it will work better than the stock one which just has none.
An accusump just looks like hassle to me and hard come oil change time.
So if its better than stock thats good enough for me.
Dumb question maybe but my car has a very low ride height, can I still fit this?
Ok I am down as long its a direct fit requiring no cutting up the car. Can we go to one place to have it fitted for all our cars (like bicester) instead of being guinea pigs for our nearest garages. It cost me 120 at B&C to rectify a simple cat swap done by a highly regarded garage, so I’m slightly paranoid about being a guinea pig at a garage that doesn’t know what its doing.

im going to fit mine myself,it really shouldnt be too hard if you have the right tools and some patience.
OK I’ll bite. After weighing up the pros and cons its got to be worth it, especially at that price.
