Been looking at this …
clicky eliseparts twin gauge pod
Anyone got any alternatives to consider ?
Elise shop do a few alternative. A centre section that goes above the centre footwell divider. They do a single pod that holds a 60mm gauge below the dash like the one you’ve posted up. They also do a ‘ring’ that enables you to replace a dash vent with a 60mm gauge. That’s what I’m planning
If you dont mind losing your centre vents, with a little patience, a 52mm gauge goes straight in to the housing.
Or make one?
Centre vents for me!
1 x stack afr gauge …which I already have
1 x gearbox oil temp …planned
Thankfully the oil temp gauge is only a quarter of the price of the AFR thingy !
Just tried to order one , only to discover that the twin side by side pod only fits an S1 …
Doh !!
An S1 would be a great upgrade for you mate!!

very neat
what is that? Carbon wrapped ali?
Central vertical mount ordered today …
I’ll report on quality etc…
How are you supposed to see the gauges when you’re giving the car some stick?
Varifocals ?
I do see your point that the central position isn’t great.
The two gauges I’m putting there thankfully don’t need looking at too often. They are more like ‘development tools’ really.
One is gearbox oil temp
Other is AFR that I occasionally want to keep check of.
…
I wanted something that looked similar to the rest of the aluminum inside the car and not carbontastic
Well there are options… I installed two guage pods on the sides of the cluster shade and a small Furuno radar/chartploter/rear view camera/pc monitor…
You can do this once you convert to a paddle shifter…
Holy shizzle , look at that , looks like you could check out your own groceries in there .
With the radar/chart overlay feature you could program in map waypoints, set the autopilot and take a nap during a cruise…
Yeah, scoob, I looked at the Elise Parts 3 pod ali ones and thought, I can make that. It actually looked really nice in bare ali, but the rest of the car uses a carbon cloth and I found somewhere State-side that did identical.
The dials are Stack, the bottom 2 Pro Controllers. The bottom one runs the gearbox cooler.I should have shown a picture when they are on and in different colours, really cool. Blue for below temp , white at running temp and red for… you’re ahead of me.
I totally agree with Rob!
Personally, my eyes are glued outside… not the capacity to look at gauges with a temp diff etc measured over less than 2-3 mm at 120 mph!
I would much prefer a simple amber light when things got too limiting!
A bit like modern aircraft… if all is ok, you really don’t need to know!.. just stop before it goes 'BANG"!!!
Ideally a gauge with a warning light then? In my drift car I had Defi Gauges. You could set a warning level on them, you could also ‘playback’ which was a useful feature. They’re not cheap (look good though )
One of the main reasons why I have never bothered, it takes all my concentration just to drive the car and use the mirrors!
Mount the gauges in the mirrors ade??
