Fuse box / relays photos

Does anyone have a photo of how and where the fusebox / relays are attached to the car?
Can’t figure it out from any parts diagram I’ve found.

Much appreciated!
Simon

They are fitted to the wheel arch liner on standoff’s I believe Simon.

Edit not a great picture but you can see them fresh off the liner with the clam removed.

I have also just checked my new wheel arch liners and the holes are pre drilled, 4 of them.

Great, many thanks, makes sense now

I read somewhere it is possible to move them to the chassis Making it easier to remove wheel arch liner when necessary.
Any guidance ?.

There’s some relays and fuses behind the seats as well. There’s a small access panel between the seats, and if you’re really lucky they haven’t fallen off the mounts, got wet from water coming past the rear screen or been repositioned to where you can’t get to them with the seats in.

Full of joy there John LOL

Also from what I remember I think the fuse position in the handbook is incorrect, it’s back to front. If you fit the fuses as the handbook says when you drive up the road and get to about 4000rpm you’ll blow one and the car will cut out. I found this out the hard way.

After fastening some bits to moving parts. Must have been some drive out, that :unamused:

Before they have fallen off, got wet or moved:

Thanks for all that, I’ve fastened relays etc on one wheel arch liner…

on the other side what does the multi function relay attach to? Is it also to the wheel arch liner on that side somehow?

(Sorry for basic questions, it’s a long story why I’m not sure how it reassembles)

Are you referring to the other side of the vehicle or the relay station adjacent to the fuse box?

The other side of the car. The multi function relay unit, TRW item, pretty sure that’s what it’s called.

Cheers

Is yours an aircon car ?
That relay box is for the fan control if it is.

Thanks for reply, yes it is an aircon car. Yes that makes sense that that’s what it does. Does this relay attach to the top of the wheel arch liner?

I think I can see one in Jonny’s build thread (10th photo)

That would explain why I can’t find the part on my car - I don’t have a/c.

I’m confused about the multi function relay though, is there one in an S1 Exige?

It slides onto a bracket bolted to the top of the other wheel arch liner. In case anyone else was losing sleep over this! Sorry to trouble!

My A/c has been removed…do I still need to keep this relay?

Clive
That relay box operates the rad fan(s) on an AC car at high and low speeds and gets its inputs from the ECU - so its totally depending on how its all wired up with the Honda conversion and if they used the original fan wiring for two fans, the old ECU inputs or a new sender/relay and direct to the fan power.

Thanks Andy. Car has a mish mash of wiring so as part of the refurb I hope Martin and Steve can tidy it up a lot.
Certainly a tangled cats cradle in the front compartment .everything added nothing removed .
Have fun
