Wondered what that was. Mine doesn’t stay on its little bracket very well.
Someone got a photo of it insitu…
Cable ties to aircon pipe as that little bracket is useless and gone long ago with wheel arch liner changes in my case.
hi guys, I ask myself the same question , I have this relay on the front wheelharche lhd .
ref: ywb100800
This relay controls the fans for cars with AC .
I have also a problem because I no longer have air conditioning, and I just install an Emerald ECU.
the main fan is well triggered
but to 80 ° the relay is triggered and makes a strange noise ( grzzzzzz )
is that the relay is off, short circuit?
or is this a problem related information that emerald send ?
I have yet to watch the setup emerald and air conditioning option is not used
as the 2nd fan.
I do not understand why there is a électricité that arrives on the relay at this temperature !
when the temperature goes down noise s stopped .
and the main fan is triggered although the recorded temperature ( 96 ° on / off 92 )
I Try to send pictures of This relais !
Its depending on how the Emerald is wired into the loom.
There are two trigger wires from the relay box to the original ECU ( which earths them) - one is switching on the fans at half speed, blue/yellow wire and one is switching the fans at full speed, blue/grey wire.
The original wiring is such that the half speed is achieved because the 12v to the fans is sent in series through the fan motors … the full speed is achieved as the second trigger trips another relay in the box to send 12v to each fan.
If you don’t connect both trigger wires to the Emerald then you only get one fan working and if that wire is the blue/yellow one they will only be at half speed.
There are a couple of other AC wires to the ECU that need sorting with an Emerald - one is the heat soak pump, Violet/green and the other is the air con trigger wire which also goes to that relay box - I think that is black/green … anyhow that should not be connected …
I thought the Emerald will now also work the Con air ?
hi Andy
thank you for your explanation !
I do not know how the loom is wired to the emerald because I installed the loom adapter exiges s1/340R , sold by emerald .
I have an emerald K3 which was updated , I have seen that the program could handle the A / C .
the radiator fan is triggered well at high speed and 96 s • and cut to 92 .
of which I have time I will test the cable whom thou has show to see which is operated by the emerald .
