Extended Roof Scoop

Put the pictures on photobucket and share the links
just got mine through the post yesterday, its a work of art so nice now to bond it on a firbeglass the scoop to the roof and full respray to the roof too

highly recommended to get one
If the roof does’nt need painting then why not just paint the scoop then RTV it on ?

you can do but i want to make it flush so you see no edges and blends in with the curve of the car

My scoop was posted a couple of days, but stil not received it yet :frowning:

There is a pic of it blended in this thread http://www.exiges.com/ubbz/ubbz/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=106459&page=2

Does look good blended.

I will be taking by car to Stephen at Phoenix to have the scoop and spoiler sprayed so will him then about blending it. Probably have it done if its not too expensive. Did think about painting it myself, but Chrome orange is extremely hard to match so I certainly won’t be able to match it!

pics added to earlier post

Just got my new roof scoop and 2010 spoiler back from the body shop. I personally think the extended scoop belended onto the orignal rood look miles better than standard.

Apologies for the poor quality pics - I will get some better ones done when I fit the spoiler.

Very nice …

Awsome

looks good, I’ve now gone off the idea as I don’t need it and plan to block mine off to reduce drag

I am really pleased with the result. Its so much better than the small scoop than finishes halfway along the roof.

The guy that did it suggested having the scoop painted satin black and extended down the engine cover bit like the latest cup cars, but not sure if it will be a bit too much satin black - I’ll see what it looks like with the new spoiler on.

Carbon wrap

Actually…that was the plan

…but also the centre blade of the 2010 spoiler, front splitter, and possibly door mirrors. Maybe a bit chavtastic, but could look quite good.

I would go a bit further and do the side scoops and access panels as well

I’ve done the side scoops and front splitter and it look very cool, I think if you over do it it could go from cool to chavy very quickly

Already got genuine carbon scoops. The access panels are good idea though…but where do you stop.

Carbon clams

Looks ace, if you dont mind could you let me know a rought idea on the filling and painting price?

Ive carbon wrapped mine right the way down with the same scoop and am quite please with the results its really easy to do, only did it as a temporary measure but now plan to keep it this way for a while.

Here are some dodgy phone pics that ive just took…

I do prefer the painted/filled look but this is a cheap solution for now…

You’ve don a great job with the vinyl, looks really good! Where did you get the vinyl from, and how hard is it to apply?

The roof cost 350 to be sprayed and blended, but 200 of this is what it would cost anyway to respray the roof. The guys said it actually took a fair bit of work to get it blended smoothly without any humps in the middle. Really pleased with the end product though.

Agreed … The fillerwork looks very good … It takes a surprising amount of time to achieve good results such as yours…
I would say it was done by hand with blocks , not a machine Da/Sander in sight …
