Brilliant day, thanks to Rob and Mike for all their hard work.
Great to meet old friends and to make some new ones
Glad that the TVR was accepted as an Exige replacement but I must say that for one passenger the reaction was a little dramatic - it’s not that bad is it?

Sorry about that David. It came as much as a surprise to me as it did to you. Absolutely stunning car, just glad I didn’t do any damage. Thanks very much for taking me out in it.
Rox if you made it home about 4.00pm that was about the same time as me, except mine was on the back of a flatbed. (So I guess someone will have to wait a little longer till he can afford his GT3). Fixing mine takes priority obviously.
Thanks to Pesky, and all those involved in making this such an fantastic day. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was one of the best track days I’ve ever done, even if I did end up with a few minor battle scars. I lost a driving light and picked up a few stone chips as that MX5 went off into the gravel late in the day.
I don’t have any pictures to post as they are all over exposed (had the camera on the wrong setting). But I do have some video footage that I might post up. Unfortunately its mostly of my rear view mirror but hey it may be interesting for some, its a very nice rear view mirror

LOL on the GT3 thingy…
Nice to meet both of you… a worrying trend tho’ at the end of the night when its only the scots that are left…
Glad you got home safe - what’s wrong with the exige then ?
Only blight on the day for me was those funny things on track that leaned into the corners and especially the one that didn’t have any mirrors ? Either Mr Admin or Mr lane (not usre which one) and myslef had a spot of bother late in the day with one and it myopic driver.
That was me, and I nearly hit him when he lifted his inside rear wheel two feet off the ground on the first part of the chicane onto the start finish straight…
I had a great time, even though I only got there just before lunch.
I still did 103 miles, and had a wonderful time.
Well organised day, though those three race prepped V6 Vectras where also somewhat inconsiderate - they seemed to be unable to see me in their mirrors, or maybe they just could not believe that I had cruised up behind them !!!
Thanks to Pesky and everyone involved in the organising what was a fantastic day.
I’ve not done too many trackdays, but I thought Donnington was a fantastic circuit. I was gradually improving as the day went on, so generally a great challenge. Especially good to be out with so many other exiges and experienced drivers - just to get an idea of what was possible.
As usual there was a good friendly atmosphere in the paddock, especially around the cars needing a bit of TLC, I hope you all made it back in working order.
I left Sunday morning at 7 to get an early start on 460mile trek so sorry for not saying bye to those in the Hotel. Made it back to Aberdeen with trailer by 3pm nice clear run.
I’d also like to thank everyone involved in the organisation of the day, and the many others who were willing to share time and knowledge with me as a track-day newbie.
Apologies for being the only complete novice and therfore mobile chicane of the day - it did take some time to build up the confidence to take some of the corners at “acceptable” speeds. As session with Gav showed that the car would do it, even if i coudn’t!

First TD i’ve ever been to where only 1 person meekly put their hand up at the briefing when asked “has anyone not done a TD before” LOL that was cool.
You were a star Denis and did an excellent job as a newbie, it was good to meet you and put another face to a name as well.
What a fantastic day and a big thanks to Rob & Mike for organising, The laps with Gav - what can I say - amazing car control. Great track, great company and pretty good beer too. whens the next one?
Steve
Was noise an issue for anyone at Donnington? I had booked the trackday at Bedford Autodrome and failed the static test on arrival, but fortunately was OK with drive-by on track.A fab day, by the way.I’d put the standard cat on in place of a link pipe.My car’s a 190 with Janspeed exhaust.Booked in at Donnington 11.5.06 evening session, but will it get through the drive-by? Was anyone hauled off?
Marcus some people were the unfortunate victims of the noise police and I’m sure it was hassle they could have done without.
Your car sounds similar spec to mine - 190, janspeed, CRP - but for Donnington I fitted an eliseparts 5" silenced cat replacement pipe and I had no problems with the noise level.
On the day my wife said my car sounded very quiet in comparison with some other cars.
I Love the sound of the Janpseed with CRP but enjoyed driving Donny soooooooo much more. I would recommend you fit an extra silencer and worry about trying to find the correct line through the craner curves ( I must have tried about 40 and never quite got it right ) rather than worrying that the noise police will spoil your evening.

Marcus - good to say hello to a fellow Exige owner. I had hoped to follow you around the track at some time to get an Exige fix but it wasn’t to be
Great to meet everyone and sorry to those I didn’t get a chance to speak to. Thanks to all those who put in the effort to organise.
I really liked the track and the Tracksport instruction was top notch. Pity the tyre van didn’t turn up - my new A048’s have done 1K miles and haven’t been on the car yet!
Here is a wee taster of some of my video footage, I’ve got loads of Rox and many others! Gav looning…
Nice vid, good skills
Interesting that he really could not pull away that well on the straights I guess two up would nagate that extra power
I found that they ware pulling away from me from the chicane all the way to the old hairpin, but then I’d make it all back up the hill to the chicane again. Again, they were two up vs one of me.
When I was two up, most people were pulling away from me, up and down the hill.
Think it’s the cylinder head gasket (ooh get me, like I know what I’m talking about).
Rescue services bloke mentioned this but then decided it was an ignition problem. He has listed on the recovery sheet a suspected coil pack failure. But when we got home Garry noticed emulsified oil coming out the exhaust.
